  1. Those decals are going to be hard to find. Might look for someone who makes one off decals just for you. There are some guys out there that do it.
  2. Albert, that paint job is stunning. Black can be tricky at times, especially on a body like this one. Very hard to polish. Looking forward to final photos.
  3. Finally found the grille material somebody sent me many moons ago. He said it was tropical fish tank filter material. It works perfectly for fine mesh grilles for model cars. If that person is reading this, thank you very much again for supplying, it to me. I really appreciate it. A little black wash and it should work great for this build.
  4. Two more excellent builds from your bench, Yoshimi. Cool to show how the Nascar racecar morphed from the big Galaxie to the practical fusion after 43 years. Both are really awesome in their own ways. Kinda like Grandpa and grandson sitting next to each other.
  5. I think I have got rid of everything on the body that should not be there. There were some mold lines at the ends of the rear bumper, and it had a z-28 emblem on the right side of the rear bumper right over a trench line that had to be fixed. There were mold lines between the back of the roof and the sail panels. The door handles and gas tank filler door were also removed. The front side marker lamps also said bye bye. Hopefully I can sand and prime the body and get some paint on it.
  6. Kinda doubt that Pierre. There is no hint that the builder of this model doesn't know what he's doing. Lots of great modeling going on here.
  7. Pretty much, but usually by the time I get the body painted it's pretty apparent what it is and probably who the driver is as well. Thanks for dropping in, Pierre.
  8. Donato, this gen of Camaro participated in many racing series where headlight covers were used. As time goes by, small hints will show what it is, as I progress to getting the body ready for primer and paint. Stay tuned and it will all be revealed, but that was a good guess. Thanks for your interest in the build.
  9. Wow, Pierre. The detail you have added to the engine that was given to you is through the roof impressive. 99% of modelers who view the final photos of this build will have no clue that it is even a resin model. If they buy this kit without looking at the wip will feel like this can't be the model that Pierre built. And if they build it oob will be very disappointed with what they end up with.
  10. See how mrputty works. they say it is made like paint.
  11. Super nice build. I think I have this kit. You're giving me incentive to build it.
  12. I cut the mirror heads off and used the mounting brackets as hole fillers for the doors. Hopefully I can make it look okay.
  13. Pierre, truly looks like metal pieces put together.
  14. Thanks for the reply, Zen. I should have made my thoughts clearer in the above thread. I knew what the notches were for, I just did not understand why they had to butcher the door to have a way of installing them. Most outside mirrors just install to the doors notch free. Some people may not need the mirrors for their build so they shouldn't have to repair the door if they don't want mirrors. My model will not want mirrors on it. The real car had tiny mirrors attached to the roll cage. Thanks again.
  15. Why they engineered big notches in the doors is beyond me. Also, the bottom half of the engine is part of the frame, go figure. I'm finally getting the mouth to look more like the real car.
  16. Had to make the nose taller and make the grille opening squarer.
  17. Pierre, how you take a basic part and turn it into a detailed masterpiece is amazing. Watching your builds is always can't miss viewing for any modeler.
  18. Those solder balls are magnificent for the use that you are using them for. I had no idea such a thing existed. Ultra cool.
  19. I'm sure if anybody can do it, it will be you. You are a master of weathering.
  20. Pierre, you can tell from the second to the bottom photo that Hanjo posted on the first page of the thread that the paint was not glossy at all. And it looks like you nailed the grille as well. We can expect nothing but greatness from your bench.
  21. got the grille out of the way.
  22. Body paint looks flawless, Pierre, and I think you were wise to paint the radiator number. No way a decal was going to adhere and look right on that surface. Great job on the Alfa Romeo script on the radiator as well.
  23. Yes Rick, it seems that there are only pickup trucks and small SUV crossover type vehicles on the road these days. Thanks, Anton, for commenting on the build.
