  1. Looks like another great project. Are you taking a break from the Merecedes?
  2. It's getting a little dicey now that the seat is intersecting the sides with the bottom. I'm having to do the best I can to make it work. The outsides of the seat should work out just fine because it is one plane of work all the way around. I just have to clip off the excess and sand it smooth. I will add a narrow piece of styrene at the top to separate the inside surfaces of the seat from the outside surfaces, if that makes any sense at all. Like I said, it will be black, and half covered with seat belt and shoulder harnesses so any big gaffs can be hidden. Plus, I'm not taking any close-up shots of the finished seat at all. You can bet on that one.
  3. Wow, even making your own spoked wheels. Amazing.
  4. Slowly but surely, step by step, inch by inch.
  5. Jason, you've got these Hudson's going on. Looks like the beginning of another superb build.
  6. The diamond pattern will continue on the entire seat. I made a bunch of diamonds yesterday but will probably need some more. The seat will be black so it will hardly be noticeable when finished. Probably a good thing. Couldn't just leave it with a flat texture.
  7. Looks very realistic, Pierre. Has just the right sheen for a race car. I'm seeing a homogeneous paint job with no brush marks.
  8. Thanks for stopping by, Donato and making a comment on the build. It is much appreciated.
  9. Looks like I have a lot of diamonds to make. Oh well, what else do I have to do in the afternoons. No fixed completion date on this or any of my models. Thats why I could never do a community build. Too much pressure to meet a deadline.
  10. Pierre, glad to hear you have the correct wheels on the way. This build is really going to be special like all of your other ones.
  11. Andrew, was this build ever finished? If so, please supply me a link. I'd like to see the finished product.
  12. Mr. White Putty is actually tan.
  13. Pierre, looks like you have the stance just right. Are those the wheels you are going with or are you waiting for some others to arrive?
  14. Another beautiful build from your bench, Jason. Probably the best Hudson Hornet build I have seen done. Paint and decal work is flawless, and the interior as well as the exterior cleanliness of build is amazing. You should be very proud of this one for sure.
  15. You know what I would pick, but if you feel a need to go to the dark side and use the can. Well let's just say you might be expelled from the Brush Painter's Society of America. Let your conscience be your guide. Just kidding of course. If you feel the need, the need for speed, go for it. It's your model you have a right to create it however it feels best to you. No matter what you use, it is going to be awesome. That is for sure.
  16. All I can say is, you did it again, Pierre. What a crisp, and clean body. Man, that thing is going to look good with paint on it, not to mention decals and everything else that makes up a beautifully finished build. Can't wait to see it.
  17. Great job on the seal around the windshield.
  18. I found this Earnhardt kit many, many years ago at a model car show and when I got home and opened the box, I realized what a bad looking kit it was. You basically could not make a good model out of it worth putting on the shelf. When I started making this model, I remembered that I might be able to use some parts from it for this build. Turns out with a lot of modifications I can make a seat pretty close to what was in this car. It's probably the only thing though from the looks of the other parts in the box. It does have a driver figure that I might try playing with, but I think the guy is too tall and skinny to represent the driver that drove the car I'm building.
  19. Looking great, Ben. Keep up the excellent work.
  20. This will probably be the best model of a figure 8 competitor ever built. I will be watching with great interest.
  21. Oh yeah. That looks just right. You can tell just by looking at Fangio's pictures that he must have been a tough customer out there on the track.
  22. Thank you, Jason. Thats a lot better than putting up with Photobucket's dirty dealings. You should switch your service to postimage.org. It works quite well, and you just have to put up with advertisements. You don't really need a service to post your pictures here. They can come right out of your own computers picture files. No picture sharing service needed.
  23. Thanks for dropping by, Jason.
  24. Looks like you got the color just right, Jason. I believe I have this kit in my stash and will stay tuned for tips and pitfalls to look out for. The decaling looks perfect as well.
