  1. That picture was pre-prison. It was taken in `06
  2. Funny, as much as Amy loves motorcycles and some of the builders, she forbids me from owning one while we live in the NYC area.....
  3. I had to think about the work you did again. Individually soldering those brass tabs that are 1/2 the size of a grain of rice.... Wow... nice job!

  5. All I DO know is I was about to throw him in front of a cab....
  6. OK, here we go.... March of 2004 at Las Vegas speedway. Got to meet Bob Riggle and spent some time talking. Eventually I asked "The Question" and was given the thrill of a lifetime! January of 2006 my Wife & I had the pleasure to meet Indian Larry a few months before his untimely death. Here's Amy with Larry at the NYC Motorcycle Show in the Javit's Center. My Wife was groped by the Cookie Monster one night in Times Square....
  7. Thanks for the help Bart. Not that I'm ready to start cutting up metal, I will take your advice with me. Thanks!
  8. BTW: I found some of my car's Surf Turquoise metallic from MCW hiding in my stash. This project is looking more encouraging
  9. Nice to see 5 pages of civil conversation on a polarizing topic. I agree die cast has it's place amongst our modeling world here. I just spent the better part of the day yesterday corresponding with Brian at Corrupted Diecast. I had inquired about the availability of 1/18th Centerlines for my car. He wrote back saying he finished the masters and included a set in my order. I spent a total of about $35 for: Complete set of resin Centerlines w/ front tires Pair of M-T Drag Radials MSD 6AL Ignition box Optima Battery Electric Fuel Pump w/ Filters Flowmaster Mufflers I should have the parts by the middle of the week. I'm anxious to see if his quality is comparable to his service, which has been great. So far, so encouraging....
  10. Dennis' book inspired me to ruin countless kits.... and learn a thing or two along the way. Should be required reading ....
  11. I love seeing an epic build go into great detail over something as mundane as mounting points for a lexan window. THAT'S the sure-fire sign your in deeeeep on a build! Rommel, as always, it's a pleasure to see your work. Man can you build....
  12. I remember Dennis Doty's great model building book, which I believe is in print again.
  13. That's how I changed Buddy's mind about eating the house. A spray bottle of Bitter Yuk applied in the right places.... BTW: Before I used it on my boy, I tasted it just for the experience. Next time I'll just lick an Xacto...
  14. Wayne, believe me when I tell you he's smarter than some people I've met....
  15. Please, share with us all!
  16. Bart, let's discuss how you did the metal work on the die cast! Those builds look incredible...... I also love the display "tube" for the Hot Wheels!
  17. OK, here's my sympathy story involving my little boy. We rescued Buddy when he was 10 months old from a dingy little shelter in an even worst section of Brooklyn the end of `10. He was neglected by adults & abused by children. Naturally, he had issues when he came home with us. With some effort and love on our part, he's become an absolutely wonderful addition to our home. But when he was a puppy..... He thought our stairs were a buffet. He quickly learned not to eat the house, but if he get's a tree branch in the yard,he'll turn it into mulch. Another reason why we cemented over the yard. He used to eat rocks... But he's adjusted very nicely. Not to mention he grew up to be rather handsome too! He's German Shepherd?Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.
  18. Now I feel bad for what I posted.... Sorry Bart. Still want that Impala?
  19. Stopped by Sears this morning and had some time to kill so I went browsing. I found these neat little clamps. The clamp on the left is 4" long needle-nosed and has a low tension spring holding it closed. The one on the right is 5" and has a ratcheting type lock as you squeeze it. Both have easily modified jaws and are inexpensive. $2 & $4 respectively.
  20. Nice tip! Thank you
  21. Well, looks like a decent mix of sheet metal this time around. Fords...Chevies...Mopars... even Pontiac & Olds! Should be interesting..... Geee... which one do you think I'm going to build?
  22. Empty? Doesn't that mean you first have to FINISH it? Or at the very least, wad it up into a ball and crush it. I have an Edsel going in that direction.
  23. I just sent in an order to Brian at Corrupted Diecast. Hoping to finish the 1/18th.scale replica of my car for NNL East. Let's see how long THIS build drags on for.....
