  1. I'm with Rich on this one.... Even if I'm not competing at a show,I'm a bit cheesed-off when I see the host club's members win. It's like eating at someone's house and having Hamburger while the homeowner eats Steak.....
  2. Amy & myself send our condolences and deepest sympathy to you and your family.
  3. Wow....what a site! Great stuff.I plan on contributing as I have a few kits I didn't see listed. Plus I can contribute a REAL `68 Barracuda kit instead of the often referred to "68" Judy Lily super stock kit, which is actually a `69....Thanks for sharing!
  4. What did I get today? Disappointed that my LHS still doesn't have the Manx kit. They have the Hudson & Munsters Coachkits, but no VW. Speaking of VW's... Sam: Cool `66! Good luck with it! All the old VW's have finally disintegrated here on the East coast. Finding a solid, running car like yours would command quite a bit more than what you STOLE IT for.... Good for you.
  5. What the heck is a V5? Something else to google...
  6. After 47 posts someone said it. Thank you.BTW: What would you have if you dropped a `47 Ford on a late-model Shelby Mustang floor pan with a narrowed rear and it was home built? Would that make it a street-rodded Pro Touring/Street Street Machine? The answer was explained by the third post. Let's not scrutinize this too closely...
  7. That's actually a Mk. IV, the same as my Wifes's, but a 4 dr. I guess if I have to, I can do some surgery. But then that makes it a "project" that will never get done in a timely manner. As a matter of fact, just last night we discussed maybe selling the VW and get a new one. Might be a moot point...
  8. Ummm.. are the order of the pedals reversed in the above picture? or do they floor mount? Awesome details my friend, awesome work. Thanks for the ongoing lessons!
  9. That's one of the sweeeeeetest builds I've seen on this forum so far. The detailing, subject matter, and execution is first-rate!
  10. Speaking of which..... Anyone make a Mk. IV GTI? My Wife has a 2004 I'd like to replicate some day.
  11. The first was a friend in N.J. who's Mom had a heart attack Friday night. My friends birthday is today..... Friday night I learned that a friend was admitted to a Hospice as she was in her final stages of bone cancer. She lost her 3 yr. battle yesterday morning. What was eventual arrived. Finally, my band was scheduled to do a show last night. My singer arrives about a 1/2 later than expected. His brother-in-law unexpectedly passed earlier in the day. Wow.....
  12. Three different families we know lost a loved one this weekend. Three funerals this week.... Let the people you love know it.... you never know.
  13. Just a note of encouragement for Andy I started playing when I was 13, totally self-taught. I'll be 54 this coming April and it was just over a year ago I decided to (finally...) go for some pro-lessons. The difference in my playing improved almost as fast as I could take the lessons. Not that I'm a shred-master like Billy Sheehan or Geddy Lee, but it definitely helped. As long as I can hold down a string and use a finger or my thumb to smack it, I'll be playing.
  14. Do you make an Autometer monster tach?
  15. It's a 360 - 6 Bbl. 4 spd. 4:10 Sure Grip. Fun car.....
  16. I'll drop the front runners in a shipping sleeve tomorrow. I'd like street tread. And your right about the mufflers. If I popped them out I would have easily seen it. All is good! I'm hoping to start on the Barracuda next weekend. I want to finish it for NNL East. I've been away from shows for so long I figured I'd come back big.... ; )
  17. DUDE! You had a Sears Screamer? A friend of mine had one way-back in the day. Butterfly handle bars, suspension in the seat, slick out back, raked frame. He had the flashiest bike in our crew. I always wanted either a Grey Ghost or Cotton Picker. Got neither....
  18. Deleted my post as it was redundant. My bad.....
  19. I used to moderate over at FORABODIESONLY, a Mopar specific site for the A body cars, Darts, early Barracudas, Dusters, ETC. When it was 7,000 members it was fun. When we passed 15,000 and had 7 moderators it was a constant game of tail-twisting. I would rule hard with no conscious (ask Brian, Green Duster...he was a member there too) on the noise makers. The site became a victim of it's own popularity... and I quit when it approached 20K. Got so bad with back-biting, attacks, slander, and just plain stupidity that I don't even GO there anymore. And I was member # 171..... Bottom line? Crank up the discipline. If people are going to be idiots, let them do it elsewhere.
  20. That's a nice piece Dave. The tinted windows do it for me! Speaking of which... did you drill out the headlights & pop in tinted blanks? Looks cool.
  21. ...yes, the Velocity channel CAN be addicting. Especially Vinsetta Garage & Chasing Classic Cars! I usually hop on several times a day. Having an i-Phone affords me the opportunity to sign on anywhere. Including work....
  22. The highway 61 `68 Barracuda Gonna try & make this..... ....look something like this.
  23. I got some nice 1/18th. scale resin parts from Corrupted Diecast in the mail today. I got a set of Centerlines, M-T drag radials, MSD box, Flowmasters, Holley fuel pump, & Optima battery. Nice stuff for the money, and great service.
  24. Received my order from Corrupted Diecast. Not bad.... the wheels look great, as does the battery, MSD box, & fuel pumps. The mufflers will need a touch of work. The M-T Drag Radials are pretty nice. I have to dig out the body for a fit comparision, but I'd say it all looks good. Thanks Brian for nice parts & great service. Most likely the next post on this topic will be in the WORKBENCH section.
