  1. I have a friend that would kill to have a smoker like that....he keeps threatening to build one. What is Tucker lineage Rick? Good looking dog.
  2. Me all cleaned up with my lovely wife Amy.... Me, my wife, & my Mistress..... Me and my first love....
  3. You can go with this.... Or you can go wit dat.....
  4. **TIP** Before you go after an item with the drill bit (especially a Hemi valve cover, where alignment is visible) I install a straight pin in either an x-acto handle or pin vise. Then I carefully find the exact spot I want the hole, and I gently push the point into the plastic. This leaves a center punched starter-hole for when you drill. If your aligned your drilled holes will line up neatly. I use this method when ever I have to have a no-slip hole drilled.
  5. Never mind WWE, I can't believe they're going up against Top Gear UK!Either way, check out the new episode. Cool stuff!
  6. I just watched that episode this morning. They had the winners from the first contest, a piece on the contest, and the Rat Roaster being measured. They opened the segment talking about being a kid and building models. The original air-date was listed as yesterday, 3-3-12, by Time-Warner cable.... but. You go to the Gearz web site, and they list the new episode as premiering on prime-time this Monday. Or is it a re-broadcast at prime time? Hmm...
  7. Wow.... your paint is KILLER. I've seen plenty of your rusty-crusty stuff (which is amazing too...) but these two..awesome. Being a pre-teen in the 60's these Willy's & Anglia's were all the rage. These two take me back. Thank you!
  8. I built this off of a 1/43 die cast piece. The rims & tires are swapped from a 1/43 `32 Roadster. Roll bar is aluminum wire, and the entire project took about a half hour. ! They should all go this smooth & quick at times
  9. 3-3-12 episode of Gearz has the winners from last years Revell contest, plus a segment on Revell doing the measuring and cad/cam of the Rat Roaster. It was well done and interesting. Thanks to Stacey for giving the hobby some air time!
  10. Shawn needs an accomplice with a video camera.... Seriously, you have some skills. And your patience and thoroughness in explaining is appreciated!
  11. Great progress Rommel! I like your solution for the brake line junction w/fittings. BTW: Great looking couple you guys are. And as you said, if she can cook as good as she looks, you got it all Dude!
  12. Don't laugh... in the 80's I was playing the same clubs as Twisted Sister before they broke out. And make-up was the "thing" to do back then....But then you grow up...and older.

Nice piece! I have a resin kit of that stashed away somewhere... I hope mine looks HALF as good! What's going to tow it?
  14. Tony, Jerry, or Dave? I can picture anyone of them saying that, God bless their souls....
  15. Painting. That's my mega-phobia.... Instead of shooting the body early on, I wait until the end of the build before I shoot the body. I am aware of my mistake in assembly, but I do it all the time. Then I'll have a killer engine, nicely done interior & chassis, and an anxiety attack because now the paint has to be on-par with the rest of the build. I'll add to the soul-sharing topic. What's the most bodies you've painted to finish a build? I'm not talking Lake Super Clean do-overs.... I'm talking cracking open a fresh kit for the body because the one you painted & stripped 47 times is under your heel do-over? I'll go first: Three.
  16. Frank, that Caddy is beautiful! Also love the color on the Camaro.... and the BMW. Nice stuff. Thanks for posting!
  17. I go out of my way to ask for my size... the facial expressions are priceless. All kidding aside, I've always been the type of guy whom could buy "anything" for my girlfriends, and eventually, my Wife. The most personal, intimate, embarrassing thing doesn't phase me. It's a part of life. Heck, I used to wear eyeliner & mascara myself when on stage with my bands back in the 80's.Back on-topic.... About the weirdest thing I've done because I'm a modeler? Does loosing your mind and spending over $300 for that "I gotta have it or I'll die" collector kit count? Or traveling almost a thousand miles round trip in a weekend to Toledo and seriously wondering if $2,000 is going to be enough for the swap area? Or why I continue to buy new kits, although my collection will out-live me by a factor of three?Nah.... can't think of a thing.
  18. WOAH! Luke & Pete .... you guys built some NICE stuff! That Surfite in Martini race markings is brilliant!
  19. I know I should just let mine speak for itself. My avatar & screen name is currently sleeping in the garage. If this crazy-warm winter we're having continues, I might wake the Mistress up early this year.....
  20. I haven't had enough spare time to sit & build. I'm dying to do the 1/18 version of my car, but I'm going to finish that Edsel if it kills me. I'm entirely capable of starting too many and finishing nothing too. But I'd rather build nothing than start another. My 1/2 hour of internet time is just about don....*
  21. Norm's resin is some of the nicest stuff out there. I just wish he did the Harley too! Those parts-packs bikes are cool. I have a chrome Triumph and a few stock BSA's stashed away. Wish I had the Harley....
