  1. You'll probably find the second attempt at paint will turn out looking amazing. When I screw up a paint job, for some odd reason the second time around always blows the first attempt away! I think it's the scuffing that gives the body a kind of prep and a good key for the paint to stick to.
  2. That's good, decals are the finishing touch. I stuck a Hemi in my '68 Charger build but it's from the old MPC kit which doesn't come with the 426 Hemi Head decal for the air cleaner, gutted:(
  3. Sweet looking ride. I like those wheels and tyres. Nice eye catching colour, little red rocket with a Hemi!
  4. Beautiful shade of blue. Nice work on the plug wires. I use phone line too but I rarely wire my engines, though I should do, it makes them look so much nicer and detailed. Nice work.
  5. Lovely work. That paint looks really nice.
  6. Some really nice work going on there. It's going to look a stunner when done.
  7. Thanks Dominik. I wanted to put some dents and scratches in it but was scared I'd ruin it, so I just threw some blackwash over it.
  8. Rear panel detailed, I used the R/T emblem from the chrome tree. Very nice moulding by Revell.
  9. HEMI is looking sweet, but boy, is it a tight fit!
  10. haha, it's probably happened, they usually play the radio over the PA
  11. You done a great job on the patina, and the engine is very nicely detailed. Great little kit the '57 wagon.
  12. I tried doing the redlines and the easiest method so far I found is using a gel pen, problem is, it's not drying on the rubber so I'll need to figure out another way of doing them. Dang it, the gel pen did such a nice job too, shame the ink wont set to the rubber.
  13. Thanks Bill. Yeah, I love building the Charger, even the worn out MPC offering. Thanks Dominik. While looking up HEMI Chargers I seen a stunning red with black vinyl roof '68 with the same wheels so just had to copy it. Revell did a great job on this kit including the steelies, though I wish they would include the poverty caps too as seen on the Bullitt Charger. Thanks Chaz.
  14. Thanks mate, this is my third Charger build now and I have another MPC Country Charger to do! Call me crazy but I really like the MPC Charger for some reason, lol.
  15. I don't think so. The CEO of Halfords is Graham Stapleton. Halfords was founded in 1892 as an ironmongery and then started selling bicycle goods and spares in 1902, they still do bicycle parts and repairs to this day and are well known for it. Like Hoover is a universal name for every vacuum cleaner, Halfords is almost a universal name here when it comes to bicycles. If you need a bicycle part you'll hear people say "I'll pop into Halfords"
  16. Love the way the picture has been taken, looks real. Nice looking build.
  17. I get varied outcomes in cold weather. Most of the time if it's cold the paint looks dull and matt, but a good polish always brings it up good. I wouldn't paint outside cos the spray will grab moisture in the air and leave blotchy marks or cissing in the paint that can't polish out. You can paint in the cold, so long as there's no moisture in the air.
  18. Couldn't resist a mock-up to see what it might look like:) I've chose black stripes for the trunk and found some period California plates in my decal stash. Unfortunately I used the redline tyre decals on my recent '67 GTO build, so I'll have to paint them on for this build, but they're extremely skinny redlines. I have a couple of ideas how to apply them, but which method is best I have no idea yet, Lol.
  19. Thanks, Ron. It's HVAC tape. It's pretty thick, and blunts blades like no tomorrow.
  20. Lovely detail work, and I'm diggin the colour.
  21. Thanks Alex, will do. I've seen some of the issues this kit has, like the front axle being too wide and the steps not fitting correctly, that's why I've been eyeing the kit and haven't commit to buying one yet... well, until just now, Lol.
  22. I've only ever built three big rigs, this is was the last one I did a few months back.
  23. Thanks, Mario. When there's a 429 Boss under the hood, rear hubcaps don't hang around for long, Lol!
  24. Thanks, Bob. I'd love for Round2, or any model manufacturer, to do the traditional Checker Cab.
  25. Good start, engine is looking sweet. Love the Zodiac movie. I kind of based this cab build off of that, but like you say, it's the wrong year and style. I believe there is a two door version of the '68 but I don't think it's been issued for decades and is hard to find now.
