wow, nice work! What an awesome looking 50's classic. Very nice.

Very nice looking Ponti. Shame only the Nova is left of this mould, I'd love to have one of these next to it. Really nice build man, I like it.

Thanks Chaz. Yea, I like the decals in this kit.

Thanks Dave. Thanks Bill. It wasn't too difficult to be honest, just rough in places. Exhaust was buried in flash and looked "lumpy" and the front grill wasn't a great fit but an easy fix. Thanks, Bob. Yeah, I like the blue stripe decals in this kit, shame I got a bit of blackwash leak behind the driver door decal though, lol. Thanks Bob. Yeah, I was expecting a bit of a fight from what I've read about this kit but it's not too bad actually. Everything but the front grill fitted ok. I thought maybe the rear lights would be the worst having such a small precise shape but they fitted perfectly.

1/25 AMT 1965 Pontiac Bonneville Sport Coupe

Looking forward to getting this one. Love the mid 60's Bonneville bodies. Built a couple of these now and I always want to do another after I've finished, not many kits do that for me.- 90 replies

Beautiful paint. Very well designed looking kit.

That looks really nice. I would never had thought woody trim on a modern car would look good but it works surprisingly well!

I just seen your build in completed section and had to check out the wip, I must have missed this one. I like how you've made everything from the '67 fit a promo so well, amazing work.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it's a bit of a rough kit but when you clean the flash off it's ok as far as old screw bottom style kits go. The side stripes I'm regretting sticking on though as they don't follow the cars lines very well.

Nice one! Well deserved, I remember the '64 Grand Prix in wip, awesome build.

Nice clean looking Corvette, I like it.

Beautiful transformation, what a stunning looking build. Very nice.

wow, that looks good!

Very nice and I like the colour. Love the window decals, little details like that make a big difference. I too am looking forward to the full detail version, seen it on Round2's YouTube channel the other day.

Old kit with incredible amounts of flash. The only fit issues I had was around the front grill and bumper, the wings and front panel needed some careful trimming. Some of the mods I did was open up the hood intake, a wiper motor, steering box and heater hoses, also the old screw bottom radiator support was cut out and replaced with one from the MPC '69 Charger. Decals are ok and look good but they don't really follow the lines of the car. I couldn't get them to clear the front wheel arches without the back half wrapping up over the trunk, so I had to lower them and trim around the front wheel arches. This is the best position for them without looking wonky! The rear end sat a bit to high so I cut a couple of mm off the fixing pegs, the old screw bottom studs, which gave it a better looking stance.

Finished this one up last night. Decals make it look more 70's than 60's so I'm guessing the real car never came with these stripes, but they do look good. Thanks for following along, I'll post more pics in underglass.

Thanks, Tim.

Engine bay detail added. I stuck a wiper motor, steering box and heater hoses in there along with a "better" radiator support.
-
Thanks Chaz. It might have been open originally when the kit was new as it was very thin there, like flash almost.

Man, those wheels, nice!! Stunning build. Paint looks beautiful and the underside is spotlessly clean.

Thanks, Al. I wouldn't mind owning one today, such a beautiful car.

Cheers Anders.
