That's good, luckily my girlfriend is a car enthusiast too. She likes her Corvettes and Mustangs, so long as there's at least a couple of those on display she's fine with a cabinete or two in the livingroom. Yes, rotating the inventory to refresh the scene is a good idea. I could probably display all my builds so far, but wouldn't take long before I run out of room in those too! lol
Lovely looking cabinetes, Tom. The alcoves either side of the fireplace in my livingroom are ideal for cabinetes, finding something that fits in them though would be sheer luck.
yeah, to be honest I couldn't sell them, I'm just scoping the options. More detailed builds is a good tip, it will make for nice long threads in WIP, haha! I have my attic (loft) I guess, I can store them in storage boxes.
Just curious as to what you guys do with your built models. The reason I ask is I'm running out of room to store them, but I enjoy the hobby so much I don't want to just give it up because I have nowhere to put them. Do built kits sell well on ebay, if at all? How many kits can you palm off to family before they sit you down for a "quiet talk" about your problem? Lol! Do I need to buy a garden shed? xD
I like that you filled in the spotlight holes. I wish I did the same on mine cos I didn't realise until after paint how comically oversized they look when fitted! Nice work.
I got this from a fellow forum member but can't remember who it was! I also bought an Edsel from him, both kind of hard to find here, so thanks mate, looking forward to building the Edsel. I've got the Starliner body painted and started the BMF, there is a LOT of BMF on this one! The colour is Champagne Gold with Olympic Gold roof. The interior will also be a mix of both these colours.
Yes, everyone has a brand that works for them. I've tried Krylon and can't get on with it. It's a good paint but it seems to be a very fussy paint that's picky about the environment you're working in. I use a lot of Hycote double acrylic and Halfords motor factors paints, they too work well with each other.
I had an RC model of this in the Martini livery in the 80's. No idea what manufacturer it was by but I loved that thing. This reminds me so much of that. Very nice build, I like it a lot.
