No markdowns on anything at my 2 local HL's today. Seems like HL stores have no rhyme or reason when stuff gets marked down as it seems like every store is different when the markdowns occur.

Well accessorized oval window and a Karmann Ghia....the '56 Chevy is in downtown Cocoa Beach, FL and has been there a good while! -
Nothing too exciting. Stopped by the LHS for some paint and picked up a couple kits while I was there.

I don't know anything about the kit, but I need one! I looked on BoxArtDen and found this image from the Entex 1981 catalog. It's also shown in the 1980 edition. I've built many of the Entex, later Minicraft 1/16 Model T & Model A Ford kits and found them to make a nice build. I'm sure your Vette is likewise.

Thanks for posting these! I've always had an interest in Ford's show cars of the fifties. Here's the website about the Turnpike Cruiser & XM-800 resto. http://www.tommaruskacars.us/ -
Fun thread! I have a few bottles of old Testors & Model Master that is still good after 30+. I remember using the Pactra Odds N Ends back in the early 90s, good paint for the money! I still use old bottles of Floquil, some I've had for 35 years- the paint I miss the most from the "old days". Every now & then I'll find a bottle or two at model railroad shops or shows in the $2 bin. That's about what I paid for it when I was a kid saving my allowance for the Saturday trip to the LHS.

I hit up two HL's in my travels and neither has changed stock or gotten any new kits... big surprise!

An eclectic mixture today..... When did they start making limos out of Chrysler 300's? LOL The '60 Impala was a nice car. Looked like one older repaint but otherwise pretty much original. Would make a fine daily driver! The LTD Squire wagon was beat to hell, but bonus points for the Dead sticker on the tailgate. -
My 1960 Corvette

Sounds like a nice drivable setup! I sold the '61 in my photo back in 2008. Now that the kids are grown and I'm nearing retirement I'm on the hunt for either a '61 or '62 in either Honduras Maroon, Black, or Fawn Beige. I've never posted over on Corvette Forum, but I do get on there once in a while and read it. There's some pretty knowledgeable folks there! -
My 1960 Corvette

Nice ride! Nothing beats a C1 in my opinion. I've had a couple over the years. This is last '61 I owned at a NCRS show here in FL back in 2004. Is yours stock mechanically? -
Nice collection! I haven't ridden in years but have been thinking about getting another bike to mess around with. Seeing your photo just adds fuel to the fire....

Random pics from today. You don't see many of those Bronco II's on the road anymore, much less one that hasn't been totally thrashed. The 30s Dodge truck and '57 Ranchero have been sitting in the same spot for a good while, finally had time to snap a couple photos. -

That is interesting but not surprising. Wouldn't the same issues manifest itself with other dark colors such as Marlboro Maroon or Bridgehampton Blue? C3's are a bit out of my wheelhouse. I'm more familiar with C1's. Been messing around with those close to 30 yrs now. No birdcage to rust out but they still leak like any other early Corvette. ? -
Picked up some more 1:1 C1 Corvette parts for a good price. The man just wanted to get rid of them and what I can't use I can use for trading stock.

Even though I have 6 or 8 '56 Victoria kits, I'll probably get a couple more. I've owned 20+ 1:1 '55-56 Fords over the years. The rest doesn't do much for me, but nice to see a decent amount of kits being put out this month.

The 1/32 '32 Ford has been reissued. I picked one up at HL a year or so ago. Wish I had grabbed two! My memory of the Diamond in the Rough '40 Ford is the same as Mark's. I wish they'd reissue the kit, I haven't built one since the one I got as a Christmas present in the 80s!

A lot of the newer cars have electronic parking brakes. My 2019 VW has them, it's really no big deal as you can use a cheap scan tool to do it. What was a real eye opener for me was working at an independent European car shop. The test drives were always fun! It was nothing to check ride an M5 BMW & S63 AMG in the same day.
