  1. I'm in for a few of the '60 Ford Pickups! About time the Squarecabs got some love!
  2. About the only thing I'm interested in is the '62 Impala, the rest not so much.
  3. Saw this '32 Pickup at the pizza place earlier. Probably built in the late 80s and driven & enjoyed since. Rode out the neighboring industrial area & found this Falcon parts car & 40s Buick convertible next to it. And a couple others....
  4. My Dad had dementia issues after being under anesthesia. It never totally went away- he lived with it for the rest of his days. Some days he knew who I was, some days he didn't. That was tough. He would always ask me to "let's go for breakfast in your '56 Wagon"- I sold that car 14 years prior. While I don't have any sage advice to give, I do wish you the best and understand what you're dealing with.
  5. Nice 396 Chevelle at Ace Hardware earlier today. One of the better looking Chevelles, IMO
  6. That's one of my 3 holy grail 1:1 cars. I've owned every other body style of 1955 & 56 Fords, but the convert remains elusive!
  7. Hit the local cruise (with my regular camera, not my Fisher Price cell phone) earlier this evening. That 427 '66 Biscayne was a real treat to see, easily the rarest car at the show. The Mercury pickup is an uncommon sight this far south. Snowbirds brought it down with them. Here's some photos.
  8. My build desk ranges from clean & orderly to absolute pandemonium. My build time is limited, so I maximize by having 2-3 projects going at the same time. I'm in the process of getting ready to move, so the stash & non essential building supplies/materials are packed up.
  9. A few I spotted this morning while out & about. I never miss a chance to ride down an area looking for cars. Note the trees growing up around the side of that '65 Galaxie!
  10. Got a tip about a '55 Ford Station Wagon in a small industrial area. Rode it out this morning and found the wagon(no pics, trying to work a deal on it), but spotted these too. I'm pretty sure the cab is a late 20s Desoto.
  11. I've built a few of ICM's Model T's and like how their kits go together. As a Model A guy, I'm in for several of these!
  12. It was 75 degrees with a slight breeze when I took those pics. Down here the car show season is usually September-May. June, July & August are just too hot. I plan to go back to this show next Thursday & see what pops up. A lot of snowbirds will either bring an old car down with them each winter or keep one here. Makes for an interesting mix of cars at the shows!
  13. It did indeed vary from batch to batch. Here's some shots from the Model A & AA Paint & finish guide. Also a couple photos of Engine Green from a chassis I restored for a customer years ago. Note how the color changes according to light source. It's the only photos I have on this computer without digging around on thumb drives, but it gives you an idea.
  14. They need to get the guy from the Heller video posted here earlier this year to do the Round 2 videos. The Round 2 guy is terrible! For someone who is the face of the company of those films, he sure doesn't do much to help sell the kits.
  15. I built a '62 Corvette for a customer that went across the block at one of the Palm Beach auctions. While it didn't have the hubbub like Scottsdale, it was still a fun experience to be part of the process. But not one I'd want to do all the time. That was 16 years ago. Now, it's nothing more than a dog & pony show. I'd rather go to Mecum and wander around than Barrett-Jackson. One thing I don't understand is why you have all these people standing around on the auction block.... What's that all about?
  16. Saw this nicely restored VW Camper on my way to lunch today.
  17. This is fantastic news. Aside from MiniArt's GAZ AA trucks, this would be the first stock Model A kit put out in years. I'm in for 3 or 4 for sure. I've built several of ICM's Model T kits and found them quite nice. Other than the Monogram kit, the only other Phaeton kit I can think of is the old Hubley/Gabriel/JE Scale Models metal kit.
  18. I use ziploc bags and Vans shoe boxes, they have a flip top lid and they're what I had handy.
  19. I haven't counted them, but I figure around 400 or so car/truck kits, 100 or so aircraft & 100 or so Space & missile related. I need to cut back on buying & do more building, but I get as much enjoyment out of the hunt as I do the actual kit, a holdover from chasing 1:1 car parts for 40 years.
  20. I'm pretty sure that's a mid to late 60's Ford W series truck. The capacity dictated the series, 900, 1000, etc. Back in my heavy truck export days, I remember seeing a few of these in a junkyard. They are uncommon!
