  1. When in town, the ladyfriend & I will do an excursion on the local gambling boat. I'm not much of a gambler, but it's cheap fun to go out for the night and people watch!
  2. Didn't feel like cooking, decided to hit my favorite Tex Mex place. After groceries, walked down to the beach to enjoy an after dinner cigar.
  3. I was in the vintage car/Corvette restoration business for years. I don't do much of it now, just "by invitation". Here's a few of the cars I've done over the years. I built the '61 Corvette from a basket case and enjoyed it for several years until someone offered me more than I thought it was worth. LOL The '69 Falcon wagon was a factory 302 with A/C car. I kept the body as is but the mechanicals were top notch. The Model A Pickup was my shop truck for many years.
  4. Here's a couple of me- The first one is me at 16 with my grandfather and the Model A A-400 we restored- the first car I painted. The second one is me a few years back selling some of my Corvette parts stash at an NCRS Regional show.
  5. Stopped in a local LHS that had tons of secondhand kits. Evidently the owner sold all those to another shop and is concentrating more on R/C. He did have a couple shelves of new kits and scored these for $20 each. May go back and get some more at that price.
  6. Evidently that van I posted above has been around. Here's a link to some interior photos I found. https://fordauthority.com/2020/06/groovy-74-ford-econoline-custom-van-is-like-a-veritable-time-capsule/
  7. Out running errands and spotted a few goodies: Out of all these my pick would be the Squarecab Ford!
  8. Went to a local model show and picked up a few goodies. '57 Pontiac sedan resin body(if anyone knows the maker I'd love to know!), paid $5 ea for the '60 Comet, '62 Fairlane and '60 Merc convertible annuals to add to my growing collection of annual projects to restore, 60% of a 1/12 '67 Monogram Corvette for $10. Not pictured 2 1/16 Entex Model T Ford kits and an MCW 1951-52 Oldsmobile Sedan kit. My 2 sons went with and we stopped for pizza afterwards. Not a bad way to spend the day!
  9. I live in central Florida and have a vacation place over on the east coast in Cocoa Beach. The effects of 1,000 people a day moving here from out of state is quite noticeable. People move here and bring their poor, aggresive, slow, etc driving tactics with them. It doesn't help I drive through the major tourist corridor(Disney world, Orlando) on a regular basis. It's at the point where I no longer ride motorcycles because it has gotten so dangerous with all the aggresive driving that has seen to be the new norm around here.
  10. I agree that this must be a regional thing, I haven't seen any kits in Wal Mart around here. Not a bad thing, I'm not interested in any of them with the exception of the Cal Drag combo.
  11. Here's a few more photos from this link. Looks like a varied collection. From Model A's to Ferrari and everything in between! https://www.classiccar-auctions.com/palmen
  12. This would be awesome if true! It's the first I've heard any rumors about one.
  13. Outstanding build! I haven't heard the name Liquid Ebony since my first entry into paint & body work back in the 80s, great stuff as long as you didn't let it dry on the surface.
  14. One of the very few modern shows I enjoyed watching!
  15. Don't have a spare and need one for your truck? No worries, just bolt a tractor wheel on and get on down the road! It's the right rear, and none of the 4 wheels matched!
  16. Nickel was an option starting in June 1925 and later on all 1926-1927 Model T's. As an aside, nickel plated shells were made of brass then plated, while the painted rad shells were regular steel. A plated shell and colored wheels did a lot to dress up the old T.
  17. Was in the record store the other day and found a couple things, thought of this thread. The trucking ones were in the free pile & the Merle Haggard album was $3. Can't wrong with Merle & a Model A!
  18. Looks like the original Windsor Maroon that you could get on '27 T's. You did a great job on that old kit! It's nice to see more stock builds on here.
  19. Very nice! I picked one of these up for $1 that was half built, I finished it, but it came out no where as nice as yours!
  20. I didn't realize he sold out. Makes me glad I ordered some stuff from him a couple years ago for a project I may never get to!
  21. http://www.corvettepromo.com/annual_issues/annual.php?nav=annual&subnav=c2 A good site for all things Corvette Promos!
  22. Nice find! Ford News was published from 1920-1942. It was primarily for employees of the various Ford Industries. I had a rather large collection of originals at one time until another collector wanted them more than I did. They make for good reading. I collected original Ford literature for years, downsized when it got to be a hassle keeping everything. Ford News isn't to be confused with Ford Times which was also a monthly publication, but given to buyers of Ford cars. Every Ford product had a magazine. Trucks had the magazine "Clues", etc etc.
  23. I sent an email to ICM asking about release date and if they had any photos of the kit itself. I got this reply. Looks like the 4th quarter of this year for release.
  24. Nice set of photos! Looks like the geese were enjoying the show too!
