  1. That turned out really nice. Paint looks smooth, engine looks great. Nice job.
  2. Looks pretty danged nice.
  3. Looking good, that is a bright red for sure.
  4. Don't forget a switch, wire and a fuse holder. I really like my paint booth, no smell in the shop at all when using rattle cans.
  5. Here is the exact blower I used: https://www.wholesalemarine.com/shurflo-4-yellow-tail-blower.html And the power supply https://www.boogeylights.com/10-amp-110vac-to-12vdc-power-converter/ Prices have gone up since I built mine last year. Add a few crimp connectors, an in-line fuse holder and a 12 volt switch. and a little wire.
  6. Between the fan and the power supply, I've got $70 in my booth. I bought the supply through an LED light place, I wanted a 10 amp supply, cause the fan calls for a 10 amp fuse. Used an automotive fuse holder and a 12 volt switch for on and off. No messing around with 110 wiring. It amazes me how so many people will work so hard to do it any way but the right way.
  7. I read and rearead the paint booth sticky in this forum. If I am going to do it, I might as well do it right. And yes, fans are much better at pulling air than pushing air.
  8. Here is my low cost solution. 12 volt power supply and a 12 volt bilge fan. A furnace filter and some dryer ducting. Leftover paneling from a home improvement project. Works very well with spray paint.
  9. Thanks guys, it definitely hurts. Hands down the only bad part about owning a dog.
  10. It sucks. I had tried to ready myself for it. I knew it wasn't going to be good. But I still broke down like a baby when I heard it. At least he didn't suffer. He napped in my lap every day, slept beside me at night. It's the little things I miss, like seeing him laying in his bed, or hearing his nails on the floor.
  11. Had to say goodbye to BuckShot yesterday, blood cancer or some such big word I can't remember. First time in 18 years we haven't had a dog in the house. Sure is quiet.
  12. I have decent results with whitewall cleaner. Pretty sure it has bleach in it. Takes the chrome off well, most of the time it also takes off the "primer" underneath.
  13. Man, sure some sweet rides at that show. The firebirds, GSX, even the 80's muscle looks nice. Thanks for the pics.

    1940 Ford Coupe

Turned out pretty darn nice. Love the color. The closed hood is a good look. Great save on the hood paint.
  15. Cool build. When I first saw the title, I thought I'd see this:
  16. Great save there. Can't wait to see this one under glass.
  17. Not today, but last Saturday I got the chance to pull a 36,000 pound fire truck during a strongman training day. What a blast. Definitely a great time.
  18. Well if that ain't just a kick in the jimmies...
  19. I think you made the right decision. That turned out amazing. Love the color.
  20. That turned out sweet. Great color choice.
  21. There is a bad dust spot in the roof that I will need to sand out. You've got me thinking now about a silver roof. Maybe I will see how the sanding goes and if it needs a repaint, silver might get the nod. That would really tie in with the wheels.
  22. I finally got a little more bench time in between spring chores and work travel. Got the body sprayed, Testor's green metal flake. And wouldn't you know it, a dust spot just about smack dab in the center of the roof. I will try to sand it out, but I'm sure I will have to spray the body again. I am happy with the color, should look good with the big chrome wheels.
  23. This might explain a lot about something very similar: https://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/this-v-8-powered-bar-stool-with-600-horses-has-widow-maker-written-all-over-it-ar195355.html
