Very nicely done. Paint work is amazing.

Good to know. Thanks.

The wife works in Oostburg. We lived outside Random Lake for about 15 years. Mayville does have a nice old time town feeling.

Batavia, east of Kewaskum, on highway 28.

Thank you very much for all the tips and replies. The decal solution is on the way, with a few other goodies. The kit comes with 3 or 4 sets of pinstripes, so I can test on the colors I don't plan on using.

Hmm, Theresa isn't more than 30 minutes away from me, might have to swing by and check it out. Good excuse to get the bike out at least.

I fought tooth and nail to get the interior up into the cab. I shaved some off the dash and the bottom of the windshield. I wasn't 100% happy with it, but it finally went together. -
"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
ksnow replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I am really hoping to get mine buttoned up. I have to repaint the body, too much orange peel for me to accept. And another road trip popped up for me, so I may run out of time. With luck I'll get the body painted tomorrow, then its just final assembly. -
Snake, looked at their web site and can't find any product called super film. All I can find is the liquid decal film. Any hints on where you get yours?

Ask and ye shall receive, thanks Greg.

Thanks guys, looks like a shopping trip is in the future. Not that I NEEDED an excuse. Now what else to buy to justify the shipping?

That looks great. I just picked up this kit myself, so I will be taking notes on your build. I believe I want to try lowering the suspension on mine also, this would be a first for me.

I am working on a 1986? 87? Monte Carlo SS, aeroback. Bought the kit probably in 1999 or 2000. It has been stored in the house the entire time. I went to apply the instrument panel decal last night. It slid off the backing just fine, but when I went to tweak the position with a toothpick, the decal just started falling apart. Every time I touched it, a small piece would break off. This has me really concerned for all the long pinstripe decals in this kit. Is there anything I can put on the decals, or do different, to make these decals work? I did not use any solvent or setting solution. I've built a couple other kits of the same vintage from my small stash and this is the first decal issue I have had.

My wife is a knitter/spinner/weaver also. I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. My stash is no where near hers, but I got a much later start in life than she did. I am doing my best to catch up.

What did you screw-up today??
ksnow replied to TransAmMike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I learned you shouldn't shake a molotow pen without the cap on. I have chrome spots on my workbench now. Glad none made it on the model. -
Picked this up on clearance today. Seven and a half dollars. Box said it was missing tires. It is also missing the clear tree, the custom wheels and the tree with the concrete blocks and tire rack. Still good enough for me. I think I've got some tires that will work with this kit. Windshield looks easy enough to fabricate something from thin polycarbonate. Will have to get creative for headlight lenses.

That's a very nice build. I really like the stance. I have the same kit on the shelf, might have to lower the stance like you did, looks great.

Very nice build. My grandma drove a 74 Electra 225. Those were huge cars back then.

That looks really nice. The green wheels look great. Looking forward to seeing it all stickered up. -
I took part in a grave side service for a Revolutionary War veteran buried in a local cemetery. My gun club has been providing a musket salute after taps is played for 15 years. It was great to see several hundred people turn out to remember this man's time and service to his country. Nathan Hatch served four tours during the Revolution and formed a training regiment, the "silver greys" during the War of 1812. He died just days shy of 90 years old on his farm in Wisconsin, in 1847.

Looks pretty danged good to me. Too bad about the headers. Hopefully they come off with no issue. Looking forward to the rest of the build.

That looks pretty sweet. Nice build.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
ksnow replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
After 4 weeks on the road for work, I finally got back to the model bench. Got the first mockup done. The paint crackled a bit on the passenger side, will have to repaint that side. I am planning on painting the chin spoiler flat black. Not sure if I will add bumpers of any sort. The stock bumpers from the kit are absolutely horrible. The nerf bumpers need a ton of work to fit right also, but at least they would look halfway decent. -

I am ready to put paint on the camaro body, wife chose the color. Interior is all done. Chassis is finished and i did some mild weathering.I'm headed out for two weeks for work, so I won't be getting any modelling done for a while. Hope everyone else makes good progress. -
What did you see on the road today?
ksnow replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I remember a similar color on the Pontiac Aztek. Not sure which one looks worse to me. But, it will sure turn heads.
