  1. Looks really good. The black paint looks good.
  2. Bet that could pop one heck of a wheel stand. Agreed, wierd, kinda cute. Definitely a great job on it.
  3. Sounds like a great idea. Looking forward to pics.
  4. Well, I dug through what I had started on the 77 camaro build. Most of the chrome will have to be stripped, the flash is horrible on the tree. I am rethinking building it as a plain jane, berlinetta. The kit, as bad as it is, has some decent custom front and rear pans and split bumpers. So, I am thinking spectator drag type build. Something someone rescued and built enough to race for fun. To add to the fun, the kit has no instructions and only the wierd, trans am esque decals. It will be a basic, no details build for sure.
  5. Wow, you guys are really going at it. I better get off my behind and start working on my camaro. Been busy with the new chicks and a new exhaust on the Harley. Looks like next week I will have time to dive back in. Great work so far.
  6. Brought home the start of our new egg flock. 3 dozen Barred Plymouth Rocks.
  7. Heck, I started getting AARP mail when I was 39, that sure as heck isn't old.
  8. Yesterday was the day Dixie said she was done. Couldn't stand and her eyes were twitching non-stop. She can lay out in the breeze and sunshine forever now. Miss her terribly.
  9. Finish date was last week? Sheesh, over before I knew what happened.
  10. Brutalform, so sad to read that. Just remember those happy years. We are facing the same time with our 16 year old girl. She's been great, but the downhill slide is getting worse.
  11. Sounds like a great build idea. I like seeing non Trans Am Firebird builds.
  12. Well, I guess I'll throw my hat in the ring. This kit was started in 97 or 98. I was aiming to replicate a coworkers camaro she bought new in 77. I filled in the t tops and was prepping to add a vinyl half top. Her car was a dark brown with a tannish top. Plain trim, no spoiler. Her's had the 6 cylinder, at the time i had no donor 6's, so i installed the kits v8. She passed a few years ago, i figure i should still finish it up the way i intended to. Here's the kit I started with and where it was when I boxed it up.
  13. I'll dig out one of my old projects and see what state it is in. Maybe I'll join in this round. Might have to wait until next round, spring is busy around here with gardens and chicks.
  14. That chevelle is absolutely stunning. What are the basic rules to enter a build? I have a few builds started 20 years ago that could use some inspiration to finish.
  15. Any chance you can relay what was said?
  16. What exactly is bad about those kits? I have all of them waiting to be built. My first build was the 69 T/A, I don't remember any issues with it, but I was new to model cars. Is there a good 67GTO kit?
  17. I just watched the truck race highlights. Most entertaining racing I have seen in 20 years from NASCAR. Previous to that was the first year of the trucks at Daytona. They are trying to stop the decline in viewership.
  18. TimJ, that chevelle looks amazing.

Very nice build. That white and black scheme looks sharp.
  20. Thanks for the information. A 70-73 body would be great, not sure how available those are however. I may end up picking up a current 79 kit for the body. I prefer the front end on the 79 over the 77 or 78.
  21. I had a clear coat disaster on a Trans Am body. The clear coat reacted with the paint, maybe, and crazed the entire body and glass. Is the body in this kit the same as any current release kits, or do I need to look for an older kit for a body. The chassis is in good shape. Or are there other bodies that will set on the chassis from this kit? I am not dead set on it being a 78 T/A. This is the kit:
  22. Yesterday I started the subassembly work on the monogram 86 Monte Carlo aero back and the 70 baldwin motion camaro. Also getting the last details (mirrors, badges, wipers) on the 65 Chevy stepside. First time using hypo cement for that work, I'm happy with the results. All that's left on the truck is decals and paint/install the bumpers. The chrome looked bad out of the box, so I strpiped them and they'll get painted body color.
  23. Just stumbled across this guy on youtube. Seems like a 70 Chevelle S guru. He has quite a few videos of very nice cars.
  24. Got the chassis for the supernatural Impala just about finished up. Also got a little start on the engine for the 70 1/2 Baldwin Motion Camaro.
  25. I like this a lot. Just getting to know more about gassers the last couple weeks and this is an inspiration.
