  1. Welcome. Deer and Harley's don't mix. I start to get nervous riding mine come mid October.
  2. Sheboygan county here, just outside the Northern Kettles.
  3. I grew up in Racine, parents still live there.
  4. Are you using acrylic paints?
  5. Nice looking pair of TA's.
  6. Brutalform, those bodies look great. The panel lines look awesome. I was asking about the accent more for using on engines and drivetrain components. I wanted to paint them first, then use the panel accent to add depth. I use testor's enamels, guess I will have to look at adding a clear coat over the enamel before the accent.
  7. Just got my first bottle the other day. The directions on the bottle say do not apply over enamel. Am I reading that right? Do I need to put a clear coat over any enamel painted part I want to use the panel line accent on? Thank you.
  8. Got an order in the mail with some paint colors I needed and these two kits. I like the service truck options included with these vintage pickups.
  9. I've seen something like that in Europe, to save your parking spot when you are gone. Just guessing.
  10. Very nice. The white looks real classy. I missed buying one exactly like that by 15 minutes back in 98 or so.
  11. Very nice work there. I love the paint color and how it lets the engine stand out.
  12. Getting the v-10 finished up for my Ram VTS. Starting on the interior. First build in 20 years, definitely some areas to improve on.
  13. No time for pics while driving, but saw my first ever Chevrolet Corvair pickup, thingy. Turquoise and white, very nicely done. Not my cup of tea, but definitely something different.
  14. Picked up a bottle of model master semi gloss black and this "used" kit. All parts are present and no damage at all.
  15. That garage diorama is simply amazing. I love the attention to detail. All the little odds and ends really make it believable.
  16. Thank you for all of the replies. I appreciate the knowledge. I am just getting back into this game and starting from scratch as far as supplies. I pulled wrenches in GM garages for 12 years, pretty familiar with modern interiors. I will use some of your techniques to get all the different finishes on interior items. As of now I am limited to bottles and rattle cans, an airbrush may be a winter purchase this year, we will see.
  17. That's really cool. Love the attention to detail.
  18. Ended up ordering both the semi gloss and classic black. Thanks for all the input.
  19. Nice color. That top looks great.
  20. Thank you. I'll probably get the classic and a small bottle of semi, just to have variety. That's the spice of life, right?
  21. I am looking for a semi-gloss black paint (bottle) for interior and engine bay detailing. What finish is Testor's Model Master Classic Black?
  22. Down the road I want to build a replica of the jeep my grandpa used out west for hunting. It was a 1947 Willy's, painted bright yellow. Had a removable top. Up in the mountains, the stick engine would lean out too much, so he replaced it with a flathead V-8 (not sure where that camer from). Dad says they had to get helper springs for the front axle and a bell housing adapter. Here's a pic of it in the mountains, probably 1958 or so.
  23. I made myself a little body stand out of wire and wood block to hold car/truck bodies when I paint them. Got a 97 Trans Am body primed and will be putting the body color on the Ram VTS in a day or two. I had painted the TA body 20 years ago, and when I covered it to dry, the box I used touched the roof beam and left a spot of paper on the body. I stripped the paint last week.
  24. Great looking truck.
