  1. You apply the decal film to the sheet before soaking the decals? That would be very helpful with my older kits.
  2. Very, very nice build. Love the upholstery. The flat and semi gloss trucks are really eye catching.
  3. Finally got to hobby lobby to pick up a molotow pen. Here is the final result. To recap, the wheels were stripped of the chrome plating in whitewall cleaner. Then I sprayed them with Rustoleum 2x gold. The silver on the wheel face was done with a sharpie silver paint pen. Lugs and center caps were picked out with a molotow pen. Unfortunately the kit does not come with decals for the caps.
  4. That turned out very nice. That grey is sharp and the red interior is just enough contrast.
  5. Looking very good. That grey exterior looks awesome.
  6. Oh, that is going to look great. Can't wait to see that finished.
  7. Got the plug wires run to the boots. Need to let the glue dry well and my eyes to uncross. Then I will get them to lay down a little nicer.
  8. Here is the pic.
  9. I stripped the wheels with blech white whitewall cleaner. Then I sprayed them with gold Rustoleum paint. Used a silver sharpie oil paint marker to pick out the silver. Still have to do the lugnuts and center caps.
  10. I like the stripes on the trunk. Looks more complete to my eyes.
  11. Welcome, looking forward to seeing your work.
  12. That truck is looking really sweet. I love that grey green color.
  13. I've worked with some really bad mechanics out there. Some real good ones too, but when there is money to be made easily, it seems like morals go out the window. One guy would get a car in for an alignment. He'd drive it down the road. If the steering wheel was centered and it didn't pull, he called it good. Never even drove it up on the alignment rack. Spend 2 minutes on a test drive and charge the customer an hour and half.
  14. Welcome back, your detailing looks great.
  15. Thanks. That ejection mark is bugging me now that I see it twice actual size. I may have to remedy that.
  16. Very nice build. I remember watching a lot of those at airshows when I was a kid.
  17. Very nice set of trucks. They look great alone and next to each other. The spare tire in the wrecker bed is a nice touch.
  18. Now the interior matches the engine. I like the red better. The green was definitely a statement color. I love the exterior color.
  19. I installed spark plug boots and the distributor for a 1978 Trans Am I am working on. First time ever adding wires to an engine. The heads have no detail, so I had to eyeball the spark locations based off 1:1 photos I found on the web.
  20. espo, I have not tried that. I will look into that option tonight. A little flexibility would be a good thing, to let me get everything lined up before the adhesive cures. Ill have to look for a set of small bits, I don't think my numbered set goes that small.
  21. I am slowly working on an AMT/Ertl 1997 Trans Am kit that I started about 20 years ago. Trying to get the radiator and hoses glued in, but having a heck of ta time trying to keep everything stay and "straight" until glue sets. I tried tweezers and thick CA last night, the hoses kept spinning in the tweezers. After 30 seconds, the CA hadn't set up enough to hole the upper end of the hose to the water pump and my hand cramped. I am pondering making some sort of jig and alignment blocks to hold this thing in place. Anyone build this kit and have any suggestions? Another night like last night and this might go back in the box for another 20 years.
  22. Slotto, those look great. Mine just got the bleche white treatment this weekend. I will be spraying them gold and trying a silver sharpie for the details.
  23. Looking really good. Red and white look classic. The interior looks very sharp.
