  1. After a lot of digging on my computer, I found the one and only picture we know of that has the car in it. My dad and mom standing next to it, must be summer of 1970, Sault Ste Marie, MI. The wheels look like the lower option in my previous post. Dad added '68 GTO side markers to the car, cause he liked how they looked. I only remember the car with riveted on galvanized lower on the rear quarters, darn WI road salt.
  2. The 6 foot door leads into a 7 foot high basement. House was built in the 50s. Thats pretty common around here. We will be test driving it this afternoon. Already found an aftermarket antenna that is 4 inches shorter than OEM. so, it should fit.
  3. I am gathering the parts, finally, to build my dad's GTO. The car had steel wheels, but he can't remember what the wheel covers looked like. I found these two styles while searching the web. Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of the actual car. Any ideas if these are available? I am using the, um, less than desirable 67 GTO kit as a base. Thanks.
  4. Thank you very much for that, I was hoping you would chime in. Yes, we will definitely ask for a test drive.
  5. Yeah, I didn't have a tape on me yesterday when we saw one at the local dealer. The Maverick has a 6ish inch satellite radio antenna (angled back) mast on the roof. My garage door opening is actually 75 inches, hoping that's enough. But, her heart isn't set on one, so we will see. I wonder how much shorter a base FWD model is than the loaded AWD.
  6. Will the new Ford Maverick pickups fit through a 6 foot high garage door? All the web sites have the height at 68.7 inches, but I am not sure if that is cab height, or if it includes the antenna on the roof. My wife is looking at them, but wants to make sure they will fit in the garage.
  7. Great sleeper for sure. That engine bay looks plenty full.
  8. The upholstery weathering is amazing, great work on that. The salt rust looks great, too. I am going to have to try that on something soon.
  9. Really sweet looking build. That color is spot on.
  10. Two years later, and I've finally got some progress to show. Got the body on the chassis for another dry fit. Engine is ready to go in. I am happy with the wheels and stance. Another opportunity has risen, with the chrome air cleaner, the hood won't sit flat. I hadn't even thought to check that. So, have to figure out what to do there.
  11. Sweet build. The different black tones sure add a lot to the overall look. Fast looking ride you built.
  12. I will be definitely be following this build. Very cool project you have started here.
  13. Very nice build. I really like the spark plug/wire/boot detail.
  14. That turned out great. Love the open hood detail.
  15. Very nice builds. My grandpa worked on Corsairs at the end of the War.
  16. I will be watching this one. F-14s are amazing aircraft, and I like the "what-if" builds.
  17. Engine looks good. Looking forward to seeing your weathering process.
  18. Mine is sitting in purgatory as I try to figure out how to weave the headers in between the engine and subframe.
  19. That engine build is fantastic. Amazing detail. Looing forward to the paint progress.
  20. I hit another step in my journey to a 400# deadlift. Last August I set a new 1 rep personal best at 365#. Sunday I lifted that for two clean reps. Training for a strongman competition in August and October. Now if I can get my overhead press to improve I will be REALLY happy.
  21. That body color will look great against the chassis. Excellent choice of colors again.
  22. Good to see you back on this. Can't wait to see the process.
  23. Wow, that sucks. Sorry to hear that.
  24. Another great finish on that one. You sure have a way to wrestle them into submission.
  25. Great build. Good choice on the steelies. The old school look is very nice.
