Thank you! Aoshima "American SS" wheels and tires.
-
I had tons of fun with this one! Started with the AMT '67 GTO kit then used the chassis/suspension from Revell's '66 Malibu SS. I converted the GTO front clip to a tilt nose and added the Malibu snorkel scoop. Some wheelbase modifications were needed and I didn't exactly nail that but it works. Aoshima "American SS" wheels and tires. Box stock interior. Some slight modifications to use the GTO engine in place of the big block Chevy in the frame, then topped it with the GTO kit blower with carbs/stacks from the Malibu. Added a single pot master cylinder...forgot to paint the radiator cap. Added some glass packs to the end of the GTO kit headers and some "tailpipes" to dump in front of the rear axle. I made it a vinyl top car with some styrene strips for the trim and seams. Paint is '67 Pontiac Regimental Red from Scale Finishes, cleared with 2k and no sanding or polishing. The vinyl top finish was done using the stand-back-and-mist-paint method. Foil on the lower trim panels, everything else done with Molotow. Photo etched hood pins, and door handles from Fireball Modelworks. It could use a door mirror, but I couldn't find one that was suitable in my stash. Not my best but far from my worst! I present....The GOAT!

Man, that truck is the kinds look I'm shooting for on this one...I even have brown paint for it! Cool. -

Thanks Donny! It's '67 Pontiac Regimental Red.

Clear coated, vinyl top sprayed (it isn't the greatest, but it'll do). About ready for foiling and assembly.

This one was inspired by a picture. I have another picture of this car somewhere but can't find it. The chassis started as an AMT '65 Chevelle funny car. Revell '32 front suspension, while the rear is out-of-box. Lots of fab work on the cage and chassis tubing. The body is a "defect" resin I found on ebay. The color is a mix of a couple Tamiya shades and the decals are from a few different Slixx sheets covered with a 2K clear straight out of the can. Bumpers and lights are Fusion Firm while the door handles and emblems are Molotow (I forgot to do the rear script and nose emblem before these shots, but I'm not taking new pictures!). I tried to mask the interior cover before I cleared and accidentally pulled off part of the Doug's Headers decal on the passenger side, so the u and the g got hand painted and then I just cleared everything. A lot of pictures here but I'm pretty excited with how it turned out! Doh...I forgot gauge decals too. And the starter and oil filter. And the tie rod! I guess it's back in the shop, but you get the idea.

I saw it on the 'gram earlier but love seeing big pictures on the computer. Really cool build Dennis!

I've also been doing some paint work. Got my '70 GS in basecoat. There is a '70 Stage 1 prototype painted a one-off color they called "fireglow pearl." I tried to replicate that using Petty Day-Glo Red with some pink pearl over that. It just looks orange here, but once it's cleared and in the sun I think it will really pop. That was the last one that needed basecoat before I tried out some 2K clearcoat for the first time. I got my GTO and the Corvair cleared. I'll clear the Buick and my pro street Camaro tomorrow.

Spotted this one yesterday, local college vehicle. Not the coolest thing in the world but I always appreciate something like this in such good shape for it's age. -
It's a thing of beauty John.

Now we're talking! Even an overhead banger would be losing a lot of its power trying to make those slicks spin. An Ardun and a ScOT change things!

My jaw literally dropped. Excellent, excellent build. I have a huge soft spot for a Cutlass S.

Turned out great!! I would have been tempted to start over with another body. Really turned that one around.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!

This one wont get a build thread as there's not much to it...but the GSX kit being built as a GS Stage 1 with a special color. Got rid of the hood tach and chin spoiler, otherwise being built out of the box. G60-15 Goodyear Polyglas tires from Mean Machine Models. -
I missed this one being finished, looks great! Reminds me I need to finish a similar '55 wagon project.

Absolutely killer!

I sure don't plan on making a habit of this detailing, what a pain! I wouldn't say it was enjoyable, or that its entirely accurate...but on a racecar, it's hard to avoid. Injector lines, fuel pump lines, added the steering linkage, valve cover breathers, fuel tank filler, a shifter, and a fire extinguisher. Likely the last update until it's finished though it might be a few weeks before the body is wrapped up.

A couple old Fords today... Really clean Fox body LX convertible in Emerald Green And a '28/'29 Tudor in well earned patina -
I'm sure you've seen this one before, but in case you hadn't... Perhaps pancaking the hood would help give you some room to blend the new headlight surrounds in on the inside. But what you've got is looking good.
