  1. Thank you Randy... that’s a warmly felt compliment coming from someone with your artistic skill level.
  2. Thank you Phil... When I ordered this kit my original intent was to paint it in the livery of Ken Miles car, but the more I saw the pictures of all of them on the web I really took a liking to the gold one the most. At least for the 66 year like you said. The ‘peach’ color is a surprisingly difficult color to match.
  3. Hello Randy! I just thought I’d drop in here to see what kind of work you like to do..... Uuuum, my mind is thoroughly blown....AMAZING!!
  4. Thanks Atin!... Yes, four hands would’ve been perfect????
  5. Thank you Rex... and we both know it would’ve looked lousy without the headlight covers. You spared me from a lot of headache... You the man!?
  6. Thank you Terry, I appreciate the compliment!?
  7. The best part is that you have an endless supply.... of candy bars that is? That is a great tip though. I’m always keeping my eye out for those overlooked materials for modeling uses that we often discard and never give a second thought to. Good one!
  8. More amazing creative wizardry Tim!... I’m thinking your stuff could be an exception where even a lot of women might not mind having car parts on their living room shelves.. haha? Just beautiful!
  9. Hey guys, thank you so much for your meaningful comments! I’m so happy that you appreciate it!?
  10. Just thought I’d show this in case anyone’s interested. It’s just regular sewing string that has a very metallic silver color. Found it at Walmart. Cheers?
  11. Very cool! I like the model you built better than the real car photo. Nice job!
  12. This is interesting... all I read was the title of the topic and it got me thinking of the four AMT kits I just bought. First time ever buying AMT’s and all of them are poor quality. Some of the chrome parts on three of them are bumpy and bubbled and some other parts have minor inconsistencies and deformations. I’ll never buy an AMT again, that’s for sure. Makes me wonder if that’s why the pictures on the box are all artist renderings rather than photos... because of all the flaws.
  13. Finally got the windows done for my GT40!... this thing has not been easy to say the least. The car is 99% finished now...(what a relief!) Can’t wait to get some good camera time so I can post it “under glass”.?
  14. It seem there’s no end to this Porsche candy
  15. Thanks Michael, your former suggestion is the way I’ve been planning to do it
  16. Thanks Trevor. As for the windows being a “toughie”, I am also scratch building my own side windows which heightens the challenge a bit more. I’ve decided against the drilling and pin job as I feel it’s too risky for this application, but maybe in the future. Thanks everyone else for your input as well!
  17. Greg, the paint is waterborne.
