  1. I care, it makes it more readable for 'us' foreign people.
  2. Hi Darrick, Ok, I'll scan my manual this weekend and e-mail it to you, can you send me your E-mail adress per private message? I will use the latest Revell manual, since that one is more clear than the old manuals.
  3. Selling isn't the best option. If the parts are not broken, but build. It might be worth up to 25-30 dollars if lucky. But, carefully disassemble the model and rebuild it, is a complete other ball-game. It is a very nice kit to work with and you have really the idea of working on a small car. It is thát nice. If you need help with parts or a manual, let me know. I have half a dozen of these Jaguars.
  4. I just got a e-mail back from Simil'R. They are going to send me a kit to review. I keep you guys posted!
  5. The tracks are not the kits best feature, actually they are quite general. If I would've builded more military, I would've replaced the tracks, but for now, this will do it.
  6. Hard to see, but I gave the bulletholes some silver paint, to simulate a fresh gunfire
  7. Because weathering is a new technique for me, there is a lot of trial and error. Fortunately, the mistakes can be covered quite quickly. This is how the rod looks now: I have not made pictures of when I chipped the car, in this picture I made a dryfit and already added some rust to the body. A close up of the hood, the rust does show pretty well in this picture I dryfitted the headlights in this picture and you can see the rusted fenders. The skeletons got a pit of bondo, so they can keep their heads together
  8. Fujimi has a couple in the Enthusiast series and they built into a gem.
  9. Don, Appearantly you are too dense to see both sides of the story and unreasonable, there is no point in continueing a discussion with you. If you want to believe that your service is good and run the store in a good way, good luck; You're customers tell a different story. And you have nothing to tolerate, it is a customers good right to complain, publicly or not. If you can not provide, it is their right to vent. If you keep treating your customers like enemies, you will find your business down the hill someday.
  10. I'd rather prefer something when buses were pretty Like in the 60's with the panorama windows
  11. Don, You are partially in the right, however, like I said. If this case just an incident, there would not be so much trouble on the board. The problem is that RR is having a troublesome reputation, I had my own business and no matter what, everybody has unhappy customers, it is a fact. It is part of life and especially in business. There are always 2 sides of a story, that is a fact too. However, RR seems to be getting more negative feedback than any other resin-caster. This didn't start out of nothing, somewhere there are unhappy customers with RR. The reason why people start to air on a board is simple, they do not get satisfaction from the service you provide. That can be translated as having bad service. Where we all know that the resin-casters do work in their free time, it is for a customer unacceptable to wait longer than a month on their products. If you can not coop with the demand, stop taking orders. This way you keep yourself out of stress and you keep your customers happy. And don't forget the golden rule; the customer is always right. Even if they are in the wrong, make them feel that way. Do not hide in excuses, but apologize sincerely, make a plan and keep your word. If it does take longer than a reasonable time, add some extra goodies to create goodwill. Believe me, a company only exists by their customers and they invest in you. I hope you don't mind I pass on that. I would, but I dare not to take that risk
  12. Don, If this was an incident and this was the only problem with RR, I would say you were right. But since there are numerous topics on RR, I'd say the topic just adds to many, many problems with RR. I have not bought anything from RR, so I can not tell, nor state, that it is in fact a bad company. However, with all the problems that surface, I will not buy from RR. I think you need to do a whole lot to improve your track-record. And blackmailing does not work in your favor, better to ask to remove the pictures in a friendly way after he got his order complete. You are the one that has to fullfill your part, the buyer already did with paying.
  13. I think my 911 front-V8 qualifies as weird, but cool
  14. Or Vallejo Gun Metal, is a pretty color too.
  15. I think the 1/8 is very, very close to the real one. It has the right curves and slopes on the nose.
  16. I've seen a couple of different topics over some good casters and some unreliable casters. Unfortunately, it quickly ends into a mudfight and the topic gets locked. However, I think it does contain a lot of consumer advice. Which caster to use and which caster to avoid. I have been thinking over it and I have the following suggestion. What if we can have one sticky topic, which contains the information about resincasters. But... and here is the catch...there can not be replied in the topic. That way, we keep the topic clean from accusations and have a bit more clear way to see whether a resincaster should be used or not. It works a little bit like facebook, but instead you can send me a pm with your +1 or -1 for a certain caster, I will keep adding this information, so we can see whether it is a incidental thing or it is a problematic thing. For example: Resincaster 1: +35 -2 Resincaster 2: +24 -4 Resincaster 3: +2 -99 Resincaster 4: +20 -21 Resincaster 5: +23 -15
  17. I judge it per project, some cars dont need to be glued. But some kits are sooooo bad, they have to be glued. If possible, I do glue the model, also has to do with handling the car. I've seen contest judges who grab the car to judge, and to prevent it from falling out of the body, I glue them.
  18. Nice one Rodney!
  19. according to the link; they will sell a modelkit of the Ford GT GT1, appearantly full-detail and with 2 livery's.
  20. I plan to do the same thing, but with this kit:
  21. Noooooo thank you, I've been working on my DS now for a year and a half and it is by far the most 'challenging' kit i've ever build. I do know where your frustrating comes from, but I never let it take over. I just leave the scene and come back the next day.
  22. Depends what kind of look you want. If you get early Porsche Fuchs wheels in a small 1/18 diameter, they will look large diameter on a beetle and give it the californian-idea.
  23. I love this build, it is quite good handmanship. It is cleanly build too. Basically because of that, I noticed a few things and Marcos, I hope you don't take it the wrong way. But I do miss detailling on the battery and the hood. The battery seems to be one-color black, where it has usually the metal connectors and the maintenance caps, together with some wiring and I miss the hood-hinges and the latch on the front. Other than that it is a very nice kit. Is this the Lindberg one?
  24. simple, go to your local die-cast store and fetch a set of 1/18 wheels. They are close enough and online; the possibilities are even bigger. You just need to take some time and effort to google it.
