  1. I am sorry to post so many pictures at once, but due to a very busy time lately, I really haven't got a lot of time to update and post. I guess you would've noticed that I am not so much online anymore. I actually rather build then post haha. Well, this is the newest, latest project. Due to a group-build competition, I had to finish this one within 4 weeks. And I managed to work it out in building it in 3 weeks and a few days. I will post the pictures of the finished car probably next weekend. I love the kit, although there is quite a lot of improvement possible from Accurate Miniatures, especially on the part of the manual, which is quite unclear at certain points. But besides that, it is a lovely kit. Nice details, and nice subject. Instead of me ranting about, let the pictures do the talking
  2. Normal glue I suppose, so I can attach the parts that have come off during the flights. Thanks Dave!
  3. Thanks! I guess she looks pretty bad or something hahaha. Yeah, I am pleased with the outcome, I guess I was lucky since I am definately not an airbrush pro. Now I need to work on the diorama and I can be done soon and then get those baby's to Portland
  4. It is trully a long time since my last update, but I don't spend hardly any time online anymore, I'm sorry about that. Job is demanding and in the few free hours I spend them with my girl and a little bit of modelling. In the last month I worked hard on the Christine and even took yesterday a refreshment airbrush course, organised by the Dutch IPMS. I took the dirty Christine with me, so that would be my test-subject. I also am going to save for a Evolution airbrush, since the Double-actions i had, where not what I needed. So let's go and save! I have a lot of pictures, I hope you enjoy! Till next time.
  5. ok, when I am at my other place, where my scanner is, i scan it.
  6. unfortunately I am not able to come and look, but I would've liked to. Although I did found a '94 issue of car modeller with a article about the Portland Roadster Show and a article over Bob, anyone interested? I can scan it and put it on the forum.
  7. Bill, what is Chamois Cloth? If possible can you show a picture? So I can try and find a European equivalent.
  8. Dave, can I be a special guest hahaha I made up my mind and I need to work it out with Rodney, but I decided I am going to make a appearance and I will bring the Christine's if I can manage to get them in the airplane, the 55 Chevy and a new project; a Corvette GS. I hope though, that some glue will be available for me, since they might not get all completely unharmed through the flights.
  9. Thanks guys for the comment, it is a good stimuli Fred; do you have more pictures or the link somewhere? I could use some reference pictures, as I have bar none! Rod; Don't forget Christine , she consumes more time than work and moving AND the hobby
  10. Thanks! Rodney, I build only two versions. 2 like brand new and 1 like the first appearance in the movie. And you know the story behind it ;-) The paint stand is from Tamiya, I think they should be around 20 dollars if I am correct. And no, the seats will stay like this. From the reference pictures I have, none pieces of metal were sticking out, just damaged rips in the upholstery. And this is the closest i can get ;-)
  11. The first update; I hope you guy's like this build and drop me a line
  12. Last week was a crazy week, it started out the week before with getting a new job and moved to a city 100 miles from my place. This is where I stay in the weekend, through the week in the new place. It was very doubtful if I could find something big enough for me to model. But I did. The first day I started off building on a small stool, the second day I found a used desk, but I had to sit on a speaker. The third day I was able to find me a good second hand desk-chair and I just bought this weekend a good desk-lamp. The only thing I can think off as a disadvantage is to keep everything mobile, so I can model here and there Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnyway; I decided to start a new project, both the '40 as the third Christine were in the painting-stage and I can not spray-paint over there. So I thought off taking the '55 Chevy with me and it would be a nice project to work on. I had a hard time modelling with proper light, so I do see imperfections I want to improve. I will detail the engine better throughout time and I am trying lots of new techniques ( for me that is ). I also primered the car today and gave it its color. The box art was green, but I didn't fancy that. So I gave it a nice burgundy paint. I wasn't planning using the decals that came with the kit, but I looked over it again and I thought the white and orange did match nicely. So, please let me know what you think.
  13. Thanks guys, I very much appreciate the reply´s. Not big of an update today, I managed to spray the white´s on the third Christine. I am doubting on putting a few layers of clear over it or not. The body needs to be aged anyway, and I think the matte look will help better than a gloss one to achieve the goals. What do you guys think?
  14. I love it, very nicely done!
  15. Don't keep it to yourself Dave!
  16. I love it, please tell me about the carberettor. It looks like how I want it. And how do you your finish? It looks like you polish the car, but how do you work?
  17. Today I finsihed the second Christine, apart from the hood. I wanted to respray that since I wasnt really happy with it. And since I have to move out of my house tomorrow, to start my new job on monday, this might going to take a long while I really hope to get working on the thrid asap.
