Sunday Funday! well we had a bit of a weather front yesterday so I spent a fair bit of time doing snow removal. But today we march along to the beat of a different drummer to get some more pre-paint work completed. Steering yup we got that, engine mounts and trans cradle yup we got those too. Fuel, well we are still tinkering there, I tried the stock tank and was not super elated there. So we will dig around in the parts bins, and we have a possible winner. In other news the interior is done except for the dash, we ran into some fitment issues with the 40 dash and discovered that it interferes with the door handles. 🙄

J.C Whitney and Kmart rash… spent my formative automotive years removing a lot of that stuff from cars.

You had me right up til the wheels, not my cup of tea. That roofline is great looks fast sitting still.

Ok ok, back on topic! Today we will attempt to fill in some blanks on the frame, a fuel source, a steering box assembly and engine mounts then once we get the engine sorted we can mess with a rudimentary exhaust. You will notice in the pic that I have some basic engine mounts already there but those were temporary to place the engine for fitment to check for clearance issues with the firewall!

Came in to mention the same idea.

I’m still cute, better looking than the fella in that pic! 😜

Tidy mods Greg! Really liking this.

Surely you jest?

Some interior work has been complete, the dash is not present as it will be the same colour as the exterior! I chose not to use the window cranks and door handles as I feel they would be better suited to a roadster where they would actually be seen.

Great looking interior Kit!

Good colour choice for an early Rod

Salvage day! I have no new monogram brake drums in my stash, so I’ll have to attempt to salvage these (wish we had an Ollie’s I’d stock up on these) brake drums from a gluey mess.

That is some extreme channeling! I’m diggin it except for the dragging on the ground rad shell.

No idea whatsoever, but it may have inspired PAC-man

Thanks for the tip on them, I’ll do some thinning of them as well!

Enjoy, it’s gets bumpy and sidetracked easily!

I was framed!

Fake it til you make it Jim😜

I have this kit in the stash on standby for a 32 station wagon conversion if my first attempt fails! I have built the 31 sedan and managed to get the opening doors working well. It only takes patience and a reworking of the door handles to make them functional( I didn’t do that) I’ll see if I can find the source pics I found for the working handles.

I’m old and I have nice hair😜

Jim as much as you and the know I want to channel it, I think it needs to be a highboy! The next one will be seductively channelled! 😮

I’ll try to give you something to pay attention to!

Thank you Bob! You should try a traditional hot rod, flex those creative muscles and get that 3d printer cooking hahhah

Thank you Carl, it needs a lot more work to get it to where I want but so far I’m happy with the results!
