  1. Thank you David for the suggestion, but an open roadster is the look I'm going for.
  2. I know right! Fella does one fendered build and now he thinks he can take on a full custom build. Hahahhah
  3. Thank you Paul, I’ll see how far I can keep this experiment going.
  4. Thank you Richard, as much as id love to use a 3d printed engine its neither in the budget nor the design i'm after, it has to retain as much 40 ford as possible. the idea is that a coach builder took on a cosmetic redesign of a 40 in that time period.
  5. Thank you Donato, I would call it more hackery than fabrication at this point. ill keep plugging away.
  6. Thank you Trevor, hack and whack are definately the correct term for this build. Pop ups or pop outs are a possibility. The stance will be lower, but 1940's lower. The blue fender pieces are from the monogram 1941 Lincoln, 4 rear sections to be exact.
  7. Thank you Phil, I wish this was the 1:1 world an I could now outsource the bodywork and paint haha.
  8. I’m wayyyy outside my comfort zone here hahahhaha.
  9. Yeah I got an idea in my head and had to spend the day hashing it out. Lots of rough cuts that will get cleaned up. That windshield frame could be an idea to use. Thank you
  10. Remember to set your traps at night! Well if i'll be remembered for something might as well be a humourous quote.
  11. Ok this is a wild deviation from my usual type of build. I started with a bunch of leftover junk parts and started hacking and taping parts together til I had a decent idea sitting together. The chop saw, sawz all and axe were busy! It’s still very rough and raw but I at least have the idea on my bench and can start smoothing things out. You can see from the timeline of photos that some ideas were tried and scrapped already. At the moment it has a full body, chassis is underway and a driveline will be sorted. So it will not be a curbside. Warning pic heavy!
  12. That big yellow lump looks perfectly at home in the engine bay, colours are great!
  13. Awesome work Dennis!
  14. Looks great so far!
  15. There is one kit I’d wished I had managed to find and add to my small stash, I’ve seen the roof conversion with the roof of the Chevy fast back, I envision it as a chopped roof tail dragger with wide whitewalls, lake pipes and a sinister dark colour.
  16. I’ve had paint do that before, looks like it went on to thin and dried as it hit. I’m sure you will get it correcedt and coated in black lustrous paint.
  17. I’ve been invited in a fakebook group to a build off for 40 fords, the more custom the better. The group is FFaFF. This is my entry in its current state.
  18. Looks awesome with the 34
  19. Love it all, what is the source of the headlight bar? That’s an exceptional detail!
  20. To be honest Jim, yellow would not be too bad a colour for this body style. I had to do a double take. IMO I think you are on a correct path to get the white and trim out of the way first.
  21. I can’t work with too much clutter around me, I will only work on one project at a time on the bench, once I reach a stalemate point I’ll pack it away and work on another, I may leave the mockup pieces on the bench to see if ideas change.
  22. Just have to whip up a Dago’d ibeam
  23. Thank you Jim! Clean is always an adjective I like when it comes to my building style. I send you a dm regarding the junk on my desk
  24. That’s “Crafty” I like them a lot.
