Thank you Donato.

I try to keep my time at the bench as productive as possible, but I usually end up down a rabbit hole chasing bench squirrels away to stay focused on what I’m actually supposed to be working on.

Thank you Oliver, I purposely took pictures that did not show the flaws in my paint work. I have another project that will be a black body so I’ll have learned( or will I?) some of the things to watch out for. -
Thank you Carl, I appreciate your comments. I will make an attempt at polishing out the blemishes in the next couple of days.

Love the subject matter for this build, the upgraded chassis was a great touch, can’t wait to see this come together.

Ed’s resin work is fantastic, it’s almost a shame to hide it under paint, and yeah the guy that did the master for this piece seems to know what he is doing.

This one was finished some time ago, but I had never done a finished thread for it. started with a 34 AMT cab and Bed, removed the trim line on the back of the cab and shortened the bed by a scale 16 inches. Mounted it to a complete Revell 32 ford frame and chassis. For motivation I robbed the Revell Foose ford pickup of its engine, a nice Roush FE. Added the need bars from the revell 32 five window kit and a dropped trailer hitch. This was my first Black paintwork and man it shows every flaw. Thanks for looking, all comments are welcome.

1957 Ford Del Rio "Shooting Brake" Ranch Wagon
Bullybeef replied to LennyB's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I have no options for you to do the trim manipulation, but I’ll follow along as I may( doubtful( Again with the negative vibes Moriarity)) learn something. -
This was a quick build, actually a resurrection. I started in with a badly built but nicely painted 3 window kit. Stripped all the ugly off of it and dug through the catacombs to come up with some parts. It’s all box stock, added all the suspension component that were missing with some fresh chrome parts, added the small block ford and painted it in shades of black, de chromed the headers and added the valve covers from a source unknown. No engine wiring this time. Final touches were the rear wheels and tires from an older 32 highboy. And the front has Cadillac sombrero hubcaps. The finishing piece is the stock headlight bar sectioned and the ends used as uprights(saw this done on a YouTube channel) small headlights were from a 5 window kit. overall it’s another finished kit for the display case. All comments are welcome.

I know that feeling all too well, Installed outer door handles on my 34…

I’ve set it aside for now, I’ll try polish when I’m in a better frame of mind.

Winners and losers!!! I’m so stoked and choked all in the same breath. Have finished two old derelict builds. First is the 32 ford Sedan Delivery, I started this way back when I had lots of ambition, so this makes 13 of the 15 32 body styles. Next is this 32 3 window coupe I got as a well painted body on a poorly done chassis( lots of missing parts) so I added all the missing parts and cobbled a neat little sbf in shades of black. Now the kick in the pants( front section) I had a good head of steam so I figured why not finish the 34 3 window, so I get it all set up, install the grille, placed the rear deck lid handle, p/s door handle, then disaster struck as I was getting some glue out of my model master cement and it sputtered out a bubble which shot the money shot out on the door( insert choice expletives here), so that’s it I stopped right there and then, still have to install the headlights and adjust one radiator hose. ao what left to do but have a car show on my bench and call it a day. Two of the three will have thread started in under glass. Can you guess which one won’t hahaha

That would be a mean trilogy coming down the street at a cruise night!

Looks like you are almost ready for primer @Kit Karson.

Monogram's 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept Car: WIP
Bullybeef replied to David G.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
Beautiful work @David G.. -
Thank you Dennis, I’ve been learning quite a bit over the short tenure of my modelling career ( less than four years on this go around) this one in particular was a challenge of making a representation of some of the current trends in hot rodding, original patina body over all restored chassis. Not a rat rod( those are a despicable trend imo). Kit bashing this build was a lot of fun pulling parts from three different kits with some resin goodies. The 32 ford is without a doubt my favourite medium for hot rod building and will continue to be as there is still a load more of inspirational materiel both on here ( mcm forums) an out in the real world. Thank you again all for your kind comments.

Cool stuff, just fell down a rabbit hole on the engine design.

Fine looking work there Dennis! On a side note I use these as project boxes. I grab one as I start a project and start stashing parts in there and label them with a piece of masking tape. They stack nicely and are smaller than kit boxes. They are for collector cards and are available from Amazon, Temu and at Staples. I use them for shipping as well.

1932 ford pickup truck
Bullybeef replied to Bullybeef's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The biggest one is the frame, the 32 was built on the same frame as the passenger cars, grille shell, cab there is a character line on the 34 that is not there on the 32. -
I certainly hope not Robert! I have these to finish, plus I just purchased another 5 to add to the stash. Then I can always open the box of vintage dragster kits if I ever get bored of hot rods hahaha.

1932 ford pickup truck
Bullybeef replied to Bullybeef's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That’s a beauty, I still have enough 34 parts to build another and I may just build it as a 34. As a comparison to the 32. -

This was my first attempt at a 32 pickup, I did shorten the bed by about 16 scale inches. This new one will be a full length bed.
