Awesome build Chuck -
How many ongoing projects does one man need? It’s rhetorical… there is no correct answer! This one will be a slow burn project, we will start with some parts from the Amt/Lindberg 34 pickup, cab, bed and the items associated with them, then we will mix in some revell 32 bits, frame and all the parts that make it wonderful. We will need the rear fenders as well from the 34. I need to do a little internet sleuthing to see how the bed attached to the frame, I’d like to be a bit accurate on this as opposed to just making it fit. Drive line is yet to be decided, the hemi is out as I want to use the hood sides. The last two pics are what started the burning.

Tamiya spray cans banned in Canada!!!
Bullybeef replied to Bullybeef's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey Dan, can you send a pic of the can, that way I can make sure I can get the right one, is it with the automotive paints or in the General paint section? -
Tamiya spray cans banned in Canada!!!
Bullybeef replied to Bullybeef's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got a return email from the only hobby shop close to me and they informed me that they will not be selling any of their small inventory of Tamiya paint ☹️. So that being said I’m kinda hooped for now, I have maybe 2/3rds of a can of red oxide primer and an almost full can of the fine grey primer. Those were about the absolute best imo and one of the biggest reasons for using Tamiya paints to begin with. I’m still a bit above amateur level in the hobby, I don’t have an airbrush, nor some of the other fancy items like a paintbooth or a dehydrator. So this will be a kick in the pants ( hopefully short term) for people entering the hobby in Canada! I guess once my supply runs out I’ll be limited on any further finish work. I’ll have a bench of white mockups lol. -
Looks so tidy in there! I need a couple more of those engines lol ? need to hit up the kitbashers and beg them away from them hahahha.

Tamiya spray cans banned in Canada!!!
Bullybeef replied to Bullybeef's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thank you Chris, we will have to wait to see how this develops I guess, it does suck though as I’m due for a restock of a couple of colours and especially primers. -
No, no we cannot! ?kustom because stock sucks! Just kidding @peteski. There are some subjects that are not available stock so custom is the only way.

Beautiful paint, what do you build that has given you such remarkable paint skills?

Tamiya spray cans banned in Canada!!!
Bullybeef replied to Bullybeef's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, like I had mentioned I have no validation of the source video, and have found no further evidence of said ban. There is only one hobby store local to me and they are only open on Saturday, their primary is mail order. Either way it’s crappy as I primarily only use Tamiya spray. -

That’s been a thing in Canada for a couple of years, along with plastic drinking straws. -

Yes I haven’ t found any further information regarding the bill regarding the ban. -
Carl, Carl… how have I not seen this build before now? Love the finish and the detail in the powerbarn.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!
Bullybeef replied to Belairconvertable's topic in WIP: Model Cars
A little what if, 74 mpc cuda with the front of the monogram 71 front. It’s narrowed and sectioned to fit, the car was a basket case to begin with. I also added the hood from the aar cuda from Revell. It’s very rough but if I had a 1:1 that is how I’d like it to look, four round headlight with four round taillights and no gills on the fenders. -
Absolutely killing it with the details @Kit Karson! Can’t wait to see it all in paint.

That’s one area that I need to add some more detail to, I always skimp on the interior details. Well done in that regard sir.

The "waste-not-want-not" Starliner project
Bullybeef replied to customline's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Imo the only one they looks anywhere half decent with fenders is the 29 pickup! Roadsters should be clean, lean and unfettered with silly accessories like fenders and possibly even hoods. To the topic at hand, gold goes really well with Purple! Brave choice, but well done ? -

Tidy work Jim, someday I’ll take another stab at a full car kit and I’ll definitely have to try the foil -
If you are referring to my build, I use the cumulative method, rather than the layering and sanding to remove, I used to build 1:35 scale armour in the eighties so I learned a lot about layering for weathering, I had a couple of books by Francois Verlinden and I learned a lot from there, the biggest part is keeping the shine down lol as military armour is very non shiny. There are a number of acrylic paint sets for rust weathering out there, I’d suggest to pick an old body or part and just practice. I use all manual brushes, it’s how I learned but I’ve seen others lay down some very convincing work with an airbrush.

It all looks pretty fine from here@Dennis Lacy, I think a distributer would suit the era of the build, but magnetos look way cooler! Either way I’m sure it will be awesome.

I may try that on a different project at some point. Thanks for the tip
