I’m gonna call this one done! It’s been a heck of a lot of fun participating in a group build. The Patina styled 32 sedan was a challenge of my weathering skills. Now I have to order in a couple of the new release kits to fill the stash again. Here it is in all the glory of a clean work mat. (no current fancy background or photo studio! more pics

And now we have primer! The backdated frame is finished and awaiting the next stage the suspension. The stock frame is still in work so no pics or primer yet.

Thank you Bill, so far I’ve just kinda mocked this up and threw some litter in there to get a feel for how it’s gonna lay out I’ve dispensed with the idea of having an office area, so the difference in the floor colour will stay. I’m looking into fabrication of a compressor but I may leave that idea as an outside the back of the shop item.

Thank you Robert, it sure took me long enough to finish it.

Thank you for the kind words Jim, it’s been a busy weekend at the bench and I feel like I’ve actually made a lot of progress. And yup Rocky was knawing on some plastic, it was a test of concept.

Look a squirrel!

Well after staring at this on my bench I decided it was time to finally, and I mean finally finish the spark plug wires

Clean work, very clean work!

@chris chabreNice to see your ideas on the board again, I know you’re a busy guy! Thanks for sharing.

@rv1963 That is some very convincing weathering, I’m impressed! It takes so much more work to make a model look old and rusty than new and shiny!

You have yet to see my levels of procrastination!? Look another bench squirrel!

Inching closer, still some details to button down: door handles, taillights, mirror, rad shell (with photo etched insert(gonna have to take my time with that( never used em before))) upper rad hose ( it was here a minute ago i swear)! Got the glass installed in the body and keen observers will note the crack in the glass( this was not intentional) it was the only sedan one I had and I didn’t want to fiddle around sourcing/making a new one. I feel it adds a little to the overall patina build. Body is not fixed to the frame yet so it’s sitting a little off atm. More before the long weekend is over.

Race ya! lol

And moving right along both frames are curing from glue and putty, hope to get some primer on them before the weekend is over. Then I can move onto running gear, the goal is to have at least one of them as a complete roller.

Thank you Bill, I’m going to stick with the kit frame as I’ve already done all the modifications to get it at the stance I wanted. I had thought of using one after following the Tim Boyd tribute thread. This is still a high school hot rod and a work in progress not a high buck show car. junkyard v8 from s wrecked 34 ford sedan, removed springs to lower it, mismatched wheels with new firestones, this as low buck as a hot rodder could afford on his part time job at the gas station job could pay for.

@Kit Karson the Columbia makes sense for a touring car, nice change.

I always do! I’ve searched the forum and there was never a completed thread on making a stock frame, I’m doing my best to have a complete with references to the parts needed.

Time for an update of sorts lol, since beginning this build I’ve tried to keep it as simple as possible to make sure I’d actually finish. The time is getting near to finish and I’d like to invite @mrm as the originator of the thread to start a finished thread as I’m sure there are others that are nearing a finish @dino246gt and @Rocking Rodney Rat appear to be close as well.

Well it’s been a morning of sanding and filing and test fitting but we are close to having both frames almost into the shooting primer stages. The k member is still underway, had to add some putty so that I can get the correct shape for the center hole. I’m going to let these pieces sit for the glue and putty to cure! Now back to another bench squirrel infestation.

Please feel free to post them! More reference materiel is always welcome.
