Years ago I won an E-Bay bid on a kit from Hong Kong. Instead of packing the kit in a shipping box, it arrived wrapped in paper! I was amazed that the kit was not damaged! I never bid on a kit from overseas since.

From what I saw of the videos, the employees are still trying to decide if "FRAGILE" means "shoot hoops", "go for the long bomb", or "home run!"

GMA (Good Morning America) just showed the results of a test done to test the three big US shippers for package handling and damage. They compared FedEx, UPS, and the USPS by shipping packages with motion sensing software from NYC to California, then to Texas, then back to NYC. Guess who was the most gentle with your package? The answer surprised me. The USPS had the least damage! They also showed several YouTube videos of shippers tossing, flipping, and outright throwing packages! What if you stick a “FRAGILE†label on your package? The quantity of impacts actually increased! They suggest using good quality boxes that have never been previously damaged or deformed; pack contents tightly; use insurance each time; and… take a photo of the contents before packing, and again when it is in the box, before sealing. Because model builders often ship kits, I thought this would be of some help. More peanuts, anyone?

I just bought the 2010 Corvette ZR1 kit by Revell... kudos to Revell for stuffing that box sideways! The body and all the parts trees all fit in on their side, thus making it easy to get everything back in the box. Sort of our hobbies "once in a blue moon" event. I wish every kit was this easy to repack!

Really? I just typed "1987 Thunderbird" in Google Image, it shows page after page after page of '87 Birds! Plus, if I clicked on the pics, I suspect there is more pics on many of the sites. I suspect eBay has a bunch of them also.

It strikes me odd as I look through my stash of detail and super detail sets that I have collected through the years... as time goes by, my desire to use them wanes. Right now, I am in one of my worse funks ever. The most I can do at the hobby bench is shuffle stuff around. I am a “middle of the road†detailer… I do OK, but never so good that it will make a contest judge drop his jaw. And I seem to be caring less. I cannot build right now. I hope to try again someday.

Big gap between the roof and the side in the first pic. Other than that, and the missing t-lights, looks nice!
