  1. It shall be done.
  2. Hang in there! Model building is about problem solving. You've heard of "Murphy's Law"? Whatever can go wrong... will! Well, I think Murphy designed some of these kits!
  3. My guess is that is real... but then again, I was wrong last time.
  4. Another kick-butt model, Jeff! Don't see six banger Poncho's too often!
  5. Today your hobby room.... ...tommow, the WORLD!
  6. What? Not allowed? Is that part of the parole agreement?
  7. Well, if marriage is a given, what else? The first thing that comes to mind was to help organize a local food drive for the victims of Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Cable news spoke of people desperate in need of supplies, especially in need of ice. So I thought “We have tons of ice up here… why can’t we send some?†Well, I found out that shipping ice from NH down south would be too costly, but with the help of the Salvation Army, we had a food drive. I was living in small town USA at the time… had three local businesses with collection boxes. I filled a minivan, and delivered that to a nearby city that was filling a trailer with donations. I wish we had a “like†button on here as Facebook has… there is some amazing stuff all you are posting.
  8. A pharmacist owns it?! Now THAT is appropriate!
  9. Critical? Not I! You did a great job for someone with less experience. Not only did you add BMF, but you also added the rubber gasket around the edge. The grill has a black wash. Overall build quality is good. BMF is tricky for some. I see people either apply too much pressure on the knife… the weight of the handle, with a new #11 blade should work. Some of us get too tense, and without realizing it, we have almost a “death grip†on the handle. Relax! Breathe! I know of one person who doesn’t use a handle… he holds the #11 blade pinched between his fingers. For thin, straight side trim, I will cut the BMF to the correct width right on the sheet, longer than needed, and peel it up to apply like a piece of pinstripping tape. The down side to that is the foil strip wants to curl up as you peel it from the backing. I hear much talk of problems with adhesive being left behind from the excess foil. Guess I am lucky; I haven’t experienced that. One thing I would recommend is to apply the foil with a light touch; trim it; then burnish it down real snug. It sounds like a lot of work, but with practice, you will have the knack for it in no time.
  10. Was this also offered as a Blueprinter Special at one time?
  11. THANK YOU for the heads up! I saved them to my photo album! Interestingly, it appears that the back window is solid black- not tinted clear. Even has a bulkhead behind the driver. So I guess the thing to do is spray the inside of the rear window gloss black. Sweet! Or... is it?
  12. Well I build at a snails pace (no offense meant to snails) so I have only a few that are not on display... I just put them in a model box, and label the end panel what is inside. If I did have hundreds of built models, I might rotate the displays, take some out of storage as I pack away others.
  13. Hasn't it been that way... all along? I mean, if we excluded cars not built by the current owner, there wouldn't be much left.
  14. The next model car event in New England would be MassCar http://www.masscar.com/ There is a contest in one hall, in another is a vendors hall. If you go, look around for show flyers to other events.
  15. Mark, you nailed it. Spot on commentary. Thank you.
  16. Maybe CGI? Especially the one with the allergic reaction.
  17. Sharp Tall T! Makes me want to start work on mine... too many other projects. Looking forward to seeing this one through!
  18. Steve, what brand is that? Is it a current re-issue?
  19. Now THAT is just so wrong... on so many levels!
  20. That is a disappointment. I hope someone will vend at the NNL East that offers what Len had.
  21. That is a real beaut! Great color; looks great!
  22. I have never visited SA board. As for Tom Carter, it’s a dysfunctional mess using antique software. Plus the paranoia that if so much as a hint of another business named, or an on-line sale mentioned, he deletes. Just yesterday I saw this exchange between someone whose name I will delete, being accused of “berating†his board, when I could only find one previous comment that seemed quite… petty. I think it would behoove Mr. C. to employ a little… no, a lot more tact. He is his own worst enemy. Yes, and the moron spammer is repying to my posts so I now get spammed via SH message notification.... Time to reluctantly remove my email from my posts *NM* Posted By: xxxxxxx <emailaddressremovedbecauseofmoronicspammers@antiquatedmessageboard.com> (121.215.155.1) Date: Tuesday, 11 January 2011, at 7:25 a.m. In Response To: I made it to work this morning but its deserted around here. And that moron spammer is back again. *NM* (xxxx xxxxx) You're not alone. This is getting old.And yes I removed the check, how convenient. *NM* Posted By: xxxxxx (68.3.230.35) Date: Tuesday, 11 January 2011, at 10:21 a.m. Actually, what's getting old is your berating a board you haven't invested a cent in. *NM* Posted By: Tom/Spotlight Hobbies <spotlighthobbies@aol.com> (75.135.152.11) Date: Tuesday, 11 January 2011, at 10:53 a.m. In Response To: You're not alone.
