  1. I just checked out this "video". AFAIK most videos are of one single model, but I did find one slide show that was over 10 minutes in length. I watched the first 1:30 of this. I recognized two models; in fact, they may be from my photo collection. Doesn't bother me a bit. No claims appear to be made, so no problem.
  2. Is that what this is about? Because I didn't bother to look... my bad. If that is the case, well, he won't enjoy looking at my Fotki albums! I save thousands of pics! They are indeed photos of other peoples builds. See "--- MISC. MODELS ---(SORT by MAKE)---" @: http://public.fotki.com/JCole/model_car_shows/misc_model_contests/ I label as many as I can, and arrange them alphabetically by name of the car. This is one of the ways I enjoy this hobby. I think of it as an easy to search reference guide. As long as no dishonest claims are made, I see nothing wrong with it
  3. Let me please help out here! OK, I have some bad news that may piss you off. Here is what happened: I was on YouTube, watching some videos on a guys channel called 1941gm; go to it. I bet there are pics of your models on there. Guys, you have to look at these videos! This is not right! You can’t just take peoples photos and say they’re yours! I’m posting this all over the web. Help me get rid of this bastard! Again, his YouTube user name is “1941gmâ€. I have seen some work on their belonging to other people.
  4. Bummer about the hinge breaking. Is it a pin that broke off? Can a hole be drilled to accept a metal pin? Perhaps a typical metal push pin cut down? Hope you find a way... save the Sambas!
  5. Great idea, Skip. As if this board doesn't have enough restrictions. Most of these restrictions are in place because of endless nit-picking and bee-itching. Live and let live.
  6. Hey Bill! Happy birthday buddy! Hope you join us again!
  7. Franklin Mint '55 Cadillac "Elvis" Unless something turns up in resin, this may be the only game in town
  8. Me like! Altho it has been rather entertaining watching the color predictions bounce all over the place!
  9. The Jaguar C-X75 should be made... in both 1:1, and 1/25 scale!
  10. I don't have that kit here in front of me, but I did find a photo of the '59... which your kit is based upon, I believe... It appears that those hinges are for 'static' display... used if you want to leave the hood in the open position permanently. I don't think they were ever meant to have any sort of actual function. Many builders will display with the hood off the car for easier viewing.

Nice! Nice enough to sell the kit! Now I need to buy one!
  12. Derrick, nice build! If you ever have warp problems, try clamping it as the glue cures. One of my favorite clamps is the ol' wooden cloths pin. Do they even make those anymore? Oh, I also like the couple behind the car. Not only do they add character, but I like that they are NOT in every photo!
  13. PFD could refer to: A personal flotation device. Primary flight display. Probability of Failure on Demand. Process flow diagram. Philadelphia Fire Department (amongst other towns & cities that begin with the letter “Pâ€). Plot Forwarding Device. Public Facilities District. Should we have a Public forum debate on the topic?
  14. Sure! Send them about $25. plus s&h, and they will send new decals, and throw in everything else in the box for free!
  15. Hmmm... new decals? That changes everything. Even if I need to make my own w/shield banner... that's why God created the computer printer!
  16. My odometer doesn't lie to me. But it does tend to be quite sarcastic.
  17. Yeahhhhh..... riiiight!
  18. Cannot answer that, but I can help others see exactly what kit you are talking about.
  19. Wow... an organization that looks for excuses to NOT let people to join? Hey, it may be your last communication with a real dinosaur... 'cause they will surely go extinct! They are NOT helping the hobby grow. Anyhow, welcome to MCMMB! We are a friendly bunch (most of the time)... well, at least I think we have all had our shots and stuff.
  20. If you substitute the words "Train", and "Locomotive" with the word "Car"... (audio) http://www.theonion.com/audio/modeltrain-hobby-becomes-modeltrain-habit,18162/
  21. That's just not fair. At least stick a traffic light in the middle.
  22. Dave, keep that fighting spirit alive! You will be facing big changes in your life, but you will find a way to persevere! Even in this hobby of ours, you can find a way to adapt. Good luck man. Give it H e l l !
  23. But Harry, I believe you are on record as never having attended a model contest. You should go... after all, you just may end up enjoying it.
  24. Let's be reasonable here. In 99.5% of model kits, paint is not included either, but that is allowed! As it should be! Ditto on BMF.... it is now accepted in the hobby as THE way of adding chrome trim. Anything else... flocking, ignition wires, engine swaps... that just circumvents the intent of the category.
