I really like this! I have to send a link to my nephew, who is 16 (IIRC) and also a Beatles fan. He even looks similar to John Lennon!

DISAGREE! Apologizing is NEVER a sign of weakness! Where did you get that load? The truth is just the opposite... it takes a good person to apologize! And don't even try the "I was joking" line.... I didn't just roll off the back of the ol' potato cart yesterday. -

Andy... leave it to you to make that observation! I used to display my alter-ego, anything from "Bloom County". Especially 'Bill the Cat', the most pathetic of all cartoon cats! But nowadays, I am much too mature to ever display such nonsense! -
1969 Mustang LOUVERS
Jon Cole replied to Van Halen's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Aluminum or brass sheet stock (which, I admit, I have no experience working with) That can be purchased at any good hobby shop. Look for the K&S Metal display. I would first start my making a thin cardboard mockup, so you can cut the exact size strips, and learn where to make the bends. Better yet, I suspect that louver is available in another Mustang, if such is the case, someone here will speak up I am sure. -

Romell- You don't need to apologize for anything! You had an opinion, and you voiced it! I do the same thing! I think we all do, to some degree or another. Perhaps things went south as I do not find the post any longer? I don't know... I hate it when things disappear without a trace. Look- your builds ROCK! Your BIG GREEN truck is amazing. We are fortunate to have skilled builders on this forum, and you are indeed one of those. But this internet... man, trying to voice an opinion without it coming out sounding 'wonky' can be difficult! It seems that if there is even a slight chance that something may come out wrong, or be misconstrued, odds are, it will. Just grin, and keep on going! Build on! -
Turns out, the trick to fixing that style line was to sand away more filler, not add more. Who knew?

Ed! It looks FINE! No, actually BETTER than fine! Keep it as-is! Clear enamel over white... today, will be yellow enamel over white... tomorrow. I learned the hard way too. In fact, I now try to avoid clear coat on solid colors. I only clear coat metallic colors.

It's been too long since updating this one. Probably doesn't help that I progress at a snail's pace. All I have to show is some filling in on the gap. I am having a hard time getting the side body style line to form on the rear quarter... I just did a prime on it tonight, hope I have it close to say the least. This will be a '57, so the side trim will be less involved than the '58. Not too sure where this will end up... maybe a custom w/o side trim?

That is one nice Desoto! Looks good. Oh, tell Slim to go eat a sandwich!

Now that is a fixer-upper! What is the appraised value? I think you can borrow up to 80% of that, which could come in handy for home repairs. You have your work cut out for you. Home repair could be considered a hobby by itself. Two words for your near future... "Paint Party!" -
Now if we could get one in scale to go along with the 1:1? From Jalopnik: Did you know Ford announced around Father's Day they'd be selling complete reproduction 1966 Ford Bronco bodies? Neither did we, but now we know they're headed for a public debut at this year's SEMA show. The all-steel bodies are being produced under license from Ford Component Sales and sold through the California-based Dynacorn, which has been working with Ford on vintage Mustangs for the last few years. The '66 Bronco is one of the company's most iconic vehicles and a darling of the off-roading community — meaning the trucks get bashed up and twisted into pretzels with an unpleasant regularity. These steel bodies will be built off original Ford tooling used in production so everything will be exactly as it was when it came off the production line. Builders will be able to swap all the parts off their old truck onto their new body then move the VIN plates over for a road legal vehicle. Remember, it's just another part number so that's legal. The other option is to buy a body without a VIN handy and just build an off-road-only truck, The new body will debut at this year's SEMA show, hoisted above the Ford stand, the automotive equivalent of looking a race horse in the mouth.

I finally picked up the Model T / Chopped T two kit combo. I think it's only the second kit I have bought this year.

"Jammer Cycle" Salt Flats Streamliner finished photos
Jon Cole replied to John Teresi's topic in Model Cars
Just too much! That is TOO GOOD! I would bet my bottom dollar that your close-up shots could fool some into believing the pics are of a 1:1 machine! You do fantastic work, John! -
Thank you to everyone who helped me out with this one. My wife just placed the order for my GPS... it will be my b-day gift. A special thank you for the support. You folks understand that we are a community as well as a hobby board. I knew you people would give me the answers I needed, as we have such a good cross section of "everyday people"... and that's a good thing! Now I'm gonna go open up that model kit I bought yesterday. That's my present to me!

Skip- Let me point some things out to you. 1. I am NOT going to join any other forum just to ask one question, much less take more time to find it than I have already invested. 2. As I previously stated, I did attempt to find the answer by other means. I did a Google search. 3. As Aaron stated, if this is such a burden to you, then why did you even take the time to respond? 4. The post is clearly labeled "OT". That pretty much sums it up.

Correct you are. From that angle, the hole looked oval and off centered.
