If I had a dime for each Prius I see on the road, I would be much wealthier than I am now! Ever notice we start noticing the (1:1) car you just bought? They were there all along, they just don't get noticed. Didn't have much interest in them before owning one. This may not apply to wealthy people who can actually afford to buy the cars you lust for. Maybe some don't notice cars like the Prius because they just don't care for them? I don't want one, but I would like my wife to get one... she has a 1/2 hour one way commute each day. I also don't buy into this 'disdain' that some seem to have against the car, nor any pre-conceived notions why people buy them. Yet if I did, I would say perhaps they just want to save some $$$ at the pump? I don't think that is much different than most of us.

Use a good quality lacquer primer. Your paint should be OK over it. The rule of thumb is- enamel paint over lacquer primer... OK. But, lacquer paint over enamel primer... big trouble! Lacquer is more chemically 'hot' than enamel is.

If it will help, compare this 1950... To this 1951... Under the outer sheetmetal, both trucks are essentially the same. The '51 has a wider grill, it's fenders shaped for that larger opening. That would explain perhaps why they look different. I have a few pics if they help. Here is a display cabinet I found out behind our hospital. I think it was destined for the trash, a refugee from their optical department. Unfortunately, the doors on both the front and back are missing. The clear plexi goes up each side. The photo I took in my carport before we brought it inside. I use this one to display my presidential limousine collection. Most of my built models go in a curio cabinet. It has a light at the top, but not a halogen bulb; just your standard 40w. also has a mirrored back, and twin doors. It was a return to a store... has a small crack in the door wood frame from the screw, and it is hidden when the door is closed. It's a full height cabinet. I had a glass shop make more shelves for me. These things run about $500 new; I got it for $30. Not bad, eh?!

Model... maybe.

WHAT? How? Was magic involved? All that for $42? WOW!

This frustrates me. Really does. What on earth are we supposed to do? Really? Put out a 'bucket-o-praise'? Perhaps some symbol could be used? As example, a 'star'. Post the 'star' to let everyone know they wish to recieve lots of positive comments. Oh jeez. Sad.

They still need to be detailed and built. They are similar to a pre-painted all-plastic kit. I have this Charger, don't like the die-cast 'dog leg' hinges, so off they went via moto tool. These kits can be worked.

You don't need to strive for a museum quality model. You just need to build for yourself. Still, consider trying just one part better than before. Or just one new technique. Every artist probably started out drawing stick figures.

Is TDR the only source for parts computer "printed"? I only ask because I have a set of Jeep Grand Cherokee wheels with that texture you have referred to... and they are 1/25. They will need to have the texture smoothed out, I am grateful to have them!

Nice! How did you do the flares?

I believe the resin needs a C5 Corvette for the windshield glass. For clear headlight covers, I would do a vacu-form of the nose. Even if you do not have a vacu-form unit, you can fake it. Make a frame to attach a 6+" square of clear plastic. Heat it up in an oven, just us it starts to gently sag, take it out of the oven wearing hot mitts, and quickly pull it down over the nose of the resin, pausing to let it cool. Of course, you will still need to sculpt the chrome bucket reflectors. I just said "the heck with it", and sold my JF resin to someone!

It's big. It's green. It's... nice!
