A few years back, I bought a unique photo etch set from Okey Spaulding at the NNL East. It contains mid-fifties Pontiac script, as well as professional car script such as Superior. Then it disappeared. One day I remembered buying it, but had no idea where it ended up. Yesterday I was pawing through my backpack, and… there it is! I never even thought of looking in there, but then again, I never looked anywhere. I figured it would either turn up, or be gone forever. Next time I come back from the NNL, I’ll be sure to empty out that backpack!

Not only is it a reboxed SHO with cop car goodies added, but they failed to add the air cooling slots in the front facia to either side of the Ford logo.

I was in a hobby store today, I looked at a '37 Ford Cabrio custom. I built the first issue, was wondering why the boxes are so much larger this time around? Any kit that is larger than what I would call a "standard size 1/25 model car box" is going to have a hard time fitting in with the rest of my herd of kits. Speaking of Lindberg, what is the latest on their future survival in this hobby?

I bought one... no, two dehydrators over the years at yard sales. I pestered the guys at the hardware store for the right ingredients to make a regulator from a dimmer switch to control the heat output. I used the same photos above to show them what I wanted. I drilled around fifteen holes or so in the lid, and cut away the grid in the top shelf for more model body clearance. Then I used a meat thermometer through a lid hole to figure out where to set the knob for 105 degrees. Works great. Had to do all this because unless it's the Christmas shopping season, some stores don't carry a lot of stuff like this. So the yard sale find cost less, and was available. PS: Sublime jerky! Can't top it!

Good tip! I have seen those (IIRC) in auto resto catalogs (such as Eastwood's) never thought about using them on plastic! That alone was worth the $100. I paid Gregg to join this forum!

I have seen cars done like that! Chrome is shot, so they spray can the bumpers flat black... and always chips off a little. That looks true!

Surprising how good looking those 300 wheels look on that! Glad I don't have to choose between those or the steelies!
