  1. Jairus, yeah I like it! Is that done digitally? I don't view the board by "new posts" so it was by chance that I found this. Any other air-cooled rides?
  2. I found this old photo showing a Carson Top on a '61 Chevy. Judging by the pic, it is either a new Chevy, or close to it. Why would someone do that? I thought Carson Tops were only on scale '49 Mercs
  3. And a sweet 250 it is...
  4. Great job! Much better than my stock built one!
  5. Excuse me... I just dropped my jaw on the floor. That... is perfect!
  6. What a fantastic build, Dave! That is one great Porsche. I have a painting by Nicholas Watts of that car.
  7. I'm going on the belief that adding pics of our Craftsman era '59 Impalas only add to, rather than hijack a thread. Especially when the thread is several days old. I built this about a year before the Monogram kit was introduced. I stripped an ugly two-tone green paint off from it, and used resin bumpers and grille purchased from some guy named George in Pearl, Mississippi (anyone know him?) The wheelcovers came from the '59 El Camino. The seat pattern was hand painted, and the mirror and fender spears were scratch built.
  8. No, it's a dessert topping!
  9. I transport special needs kids, one in particular who loves model cars. The staff at the facility ordered him two model cars to build; a 1970 Chevelle, and the '57 Chevy; both "snap" kits from Revell. He loved them! He was absolutely ecstatic! It's not the end of the world for the adult builder... I'm sure more adult friendly '57 Chevys will come our way. And the kids love these easy build kits.
  10. Yeah, the '59 Impala by Monogram is "off", and the moon is made of "cheese" BTW, the aqua convertible is beautiful!
  11. Wondering what "Pau" meant, I found this web site. http://www.eyeofhawaii.com/Pidgin/pidgin.htm
  12. You need to sand it smooth, then sand out any sanding marks. The finer the grit you start out with, the better. After sanding, the polishing starts. Suggest you try glue that is "glass friendly". Clear two-part epoxy works the best. Next best is a clear "craft" type glue, similar to Elmers, but with more grip. Avoid glues that harm clear plastic. Super glue, and plastic cement- both tube and clear bottle. To avoid marks on the clear parts, perhaps "mask" off both sides with a Post-It trimmed to fit, keeping it away from the edges.
  13. Just got mine in today. Read the editorial. Get well Gregg.
  14. Just copy and save them to your computer.
  15. Henry, I think that is it. I forgot that we changed ISP years ago. Thanks!
  16. My next cc bill? I haven't had a credit card bill for years! Thus my question above!
  17. I need to know how to restart my PayPal account. I haven't used it in years, and my credit card has expired. In other words, I signed up years ago by giving them a cc #, I somehow got a Premier Account with it's own cc. I have read that customer service with PayPal is not good. If I cannot contact PayPal then I don't know how to ask them. I need to either re-establish this account, or open a new account. Any ideas? I need to buy some hobby stuff.
  18. REAL. Real nice too.
  19. Remington, you are refering to the BMW 320 Gp5 Lichtenstein Art Car Try this album for more pics: http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_bmw__mini_cooper/page3.html I have photos of the Citicorp car for good reference...
  20. Jared, I don't know what I have that can help, you could start with my "details" page, which includes frames and suspensions http://public.fotki.com/JCole/chassis_brakes_/ That album is arranged alphabetically, and is 5 pages long. Also look around at my other albums.
  21. True that, Dave. "Bondo" is not the enemy, it's how it is used. As a skim coat, when applied correctly, it's not a problem. I'm not 100% sure about todays cars, but I remember just a few decades ago, every car on the new car lot had some kind of filler on it... how do you think they (the assembly line) dealt with that seam between the roof and C pillar? BTW, feel terrible for that Cuda convertible... with that windshield frame laid back. Add to that this damage has been "publicized", they cannot hide the history of that car from future transactions. One of eleven? What a shame. As for the tent comments, large event tents have always been used for these events. Hindsight... it's always 20-20. It will be interesting how the automotive community react at future car auctions.
  22. I don't have many photos of Magnum cruisers, just this one. I think you will have to decal yours on faith instead of accuracy
  23. Junkman, that is quite the RR you drive. Can you give us any details such as year and coachbuilder? Thanks.
  24. Umm, something smells fishy about that one...
