  1. Nice fish, Mike! You going to bring it to Masscar or the NNL East?
  2. Real nice build! I've never built it, but I'll guess the mods... 1- wheels 2- tires 3- gauge panel 4- steering wheel. That's all I got. BTW, how about adding your real name per board rules, I would really like to give you credit in my photo album. Again, really nice Boothill Express!
  3. Just had my cable fixed, now I find ESPN Classic. Watching the Daytona 500... the 1979 500! Way kewl. Dale Earnhardt... rookie?! And a crash on the backstretch that explodes into a fireball... no safety fuel cells back then. Isn't this the first televised 500? I believe I'm going to watch a fisty-cuff!
  4. You have some real interesting stuff going on there! Can you explain about the metal joints the suspension is attached with? I would like to build like that. Good stuff... keep going!

    Rat Lincoln

    UpScale rat!
  6. Welcome to the board John. Sounds like you want to jump in with both feet running. What painting experience do you have? I ask because you should master spray from a can first. Consider doing a learning curve with an airbrush on something more basic... say, an engine block, or a chassis first. As in, walk first, then run. Good luck no matter what.
  7. D A M N ! CRANKY! Good stuff!
  8. NICE WORK! Two thumbs up!
  9. RADiCAL!
  10. Surfin' car pics, found this: SMART 'Eleanor' GT 50% Finally! A reason for you to build that Smart kit! I hope I haven't scarred anyone for life with this
  11. Why use a two-dimensional decal for trim, when the actual trim is three-dimensional? Even in scale, it should be raised from the surface.
  12. Bob, we know this is going to be another stunning late-model coupe! It is only fitting that a car with a tie-in to Jay Leno has a chin spoiler.
  13. I agree with the above comments. I would add that I have seen dried Detailer peel off. Also I find the "black" is more of a dark blue. I still use Detailer only if I have a reason to avoid Tamiya Black (which isn't often)
  14. William- #1 answer: Yeah, I had a 50' roll, so I did the wifes CR-V after I did the Jeep. I chose yellow because I felt it contrasted well with the green metallic. #2 answer: Heh! Yeah, I noticed that in the pic, and I am 101% sure there is no overspray on the dash! All I can figure is it is a reflection from the inner door structure, the sun must have been shining on it(?). Only part of the car ever to be refinished is the rear quarter, and some of the rear door.
  15. Well, I'm no expert on engines by a long stretch. But as I said, the distributor is pointing horizontal. Just Google Image "Hemi Engine", "Hemi Dragster", etc. for reference. I cut off the distributor at the stem, and turned it vertical. It didn't work well... I should have used a new distributor, as the attached wires don't have enough excess, and now look stretched tight. When I did that, I noticed the rear mags should be more of a cast metal or aluminum color, no big deal. I plan on painting them. But be warned, those slicks don't just pop off the wheels. Under that tire, the wheel is molded with a big filler ring to give the tire some strength so the tire won't flatten under the weight of this die-cast model. I think it was unnecessary. That inner lip makes removing the tire from the rim difficult.
  16. Now try full size photo posting... I hope this helps.
  17. How about that... a question about a model I have! Unfortunately, I'm temporarily wheelchair bound, and there is a staircase between me and the model! I did find this pic, is this the one? Because if it is, I think that has the "horizontal distributor" which is not right. I'll wait while you go check.
  18. Matt, I have seven pics from that movie, if you could use them. Maybe you already have them. See photo #s 557 to #563 @ link: http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_celebrity_rides/page12.html
  19. This subject is something to consider when trying to decide if you should glue those wheels so it won't roll off a shelf! Maybe I should take my own advice?! My recent builds have wheels that are glued, but I have several older builds not "fixed".
  20. Andrew! This is... amazing stuff! Another "Knock our socks off" type build!
  21. How about that?!!! That is so kewl! Something we don't see too often on the contest tables... or roadways very often!
  22. Chrome looks good, but if ya want to sell us (or yourself) on the CTIS wheels from the Hummer, you need to tell us what your color scheme may be. BTW, my wife drove a 2000 CR-V for years, I photographed it (like a model builder photographs cars) before we sold it if you want ref pics... http://public.fotki.com/JCole/our_vehicles/page2.html
  23. Nice, but you may want to look at reference material for Optima batteries... Here is an image worth printing in scale... You could sand that top smooth, print out the top and attach, drill two holes for posts.
  24. I think this is what Ed is referring to... Ed apparently knows what years have the wire tube. On the other hand, you have the photo for reference. Either way, the engine and the rest of the car look great.
  25. After last weeks eye opening, I'm not too sure. But I voted "model" on this one.
