  1. Still waiting for my subscrip here in NH... funny, the postlady doesn't seem like the type who would keep it to read (???)
  2. Now THAT is a "smack ya up by the head" custom build! Stunning!
  3. Bob, you just keep building stunning models!
  4. Both look good... but the red over white really grabs the eyeballs! The red vinyl top is so unusual, just can't help but noticing it.
  5. Happy B-Day, Gregg! Let me give you this cake!
  6. Now I don't care who you are, but that there is some funny! -LTCG-
  7. Perhaps we should instead petition the model companies to use their web sites to gather information from us, the consumer? More importantly, would the model building community make it worth their while? E-mails.... too easy to ignore. Snail mail... probably more effective. Like that will ever happen.
  8. Ruben- Here are some photos of flathead distributors: Different years had different style distributors:
  9. As well you should Mark. Some people seem to like to jump on trade deals without taking into account their own past history. Either they should complete their end of the bargain, or at least have the decency to notify you otherwise.
  10. Wonderful. The local Advance Auto Parts is only about half built. Maybe if I go down there and tell 'em to hurry it up?!

    '59 Caddy!!!!

Marcos, that is one sweet CaddiYak!
  12. Brian, tell her she did a great job!
  13. Danny, the GTP looks great!
  14. Perhaps because Christian is from bloody ol' England?!
  15. I don't mind the occassional typo, but the guys who don't even try... may the body be warped in every model kit they buy for the rest of eternity! Has our school system failed us?
  16. I always thought the rule of thumb was not to print direct to decal film on a home inkjet printer? I make a good quality master print, and take that and the film to a copy house (Staples) and have them run it through their best quality copier
  17. That- is one wild model! It's like the paintjob is a model project in itself!
  18. I voted REAL. But I didn't guess right last week, so what do I know?
  19. I'd say the fact this is still floating some four years later shows what an awesome build Bob did. It also shows there is still a desire for this kit to resurface. I have one kit of just the car by Revell, plus one of the Porsche 3-car set kits. When was the 3 car set issued? (mine is buried somewhere down in the mancave) Doesn't it seem like they (Revell) must still have the molds? Hello? Revell? Hello? Model King?
  20. I am confused (so what's new?) I thought the 1:1 car shown was known as the Ford Probe race car? Can someone verify?
  21. I think it's a whiter shade of pale.
  22. You don't want to run that at over 105 degrees. The cheap way is to drill a hole and use a food thermometer to determine the temp inside. Then start drilling more holes until the inside temp is within range. I assume this will make your dehydrator looking like a block of Swiss cheese. Better way, build a regulator. I knew squat how to do this, and it took several trips to the hardware store to seperate the employees who thought they knew about wiring, from those who actually did. They advised me to use a fan speed regulator. Here is some pics: BTW, for full disclosure, the above two pics are not mine. I too took advise on a hobby board on how to do this. If I knew who took the pics, I would give them credit. Below are my photos of what was used: If you do go to the hardware store, either bring someone who knows something about wiring, or find an employee who does. Notice I drew a line on the switchbox so I know where to run it at 105º I wish I had a pic of the unit as it stands now... it must have at least a dozen or more 3/8" holes drilled for venting besides the regulator to run it at that temp. Hope this helps.
  23. Sweet! Now just put some wheels and a motor on that box, and you could drive it into the contest!
  24. Check out that big auction place, there were toy go-karts that could be used. The pic below shows one with a driver figure from a Revell 1/24 NASCAR driver figure.
  25. MS/NBC is reporting that offshore bouys are detecting a tsunami wave. Only 2 feet high out in the open ocean, but as the wave closes inland, the height rises as the ocean floor slopes upward to meet the coastline. This also is not an event exclusive to Hawaii, but affects the entire Pacific basin. Hawaii could be in jepordy around 4:00 PM EST.
