  1. This build is just so "Way out there" I'm really liking it! I wish I was cabable of this thing you call "imagination". Is the engine purely fictional? As I see it, I think it is two horizonally opposed Chevy sixes? How do you develope the confidence to know if your design is feasible? Ditto on your suspension designs! I need to watch this build, as I am starting a similar truck but with not so ambitious powertrain and running gear. A tip of the hat to your building skills and "dare to be different" style!
  2. Hi Charlie- Nope... I'm not aware of any Colebrook around here. His two Deuces are parked for the winter as well as the Harley. He is understandably security conscious, and I respect his privacy by not disclosing his location, other than to say that we are all New Englanders.
  3. BTW, you may want to check out my "Studebaker & Avanti" Fotki album as well. This album is not rearranged alphabetically however. This album does have some LSR Studes. http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_studebaker__avanti/
  4. The uber-rare Blizzard 500 Edition!
  5. Curt Raitz showed these rivets from the aftermarket...
  6. You can never have too much duct tape!
  7. Thanks for posting that Tom. I miss your builds from the other board
  8. This is a great thread! I really dig Limo's in scale. I have every one of the Presidential Series from Yat Ming, plus a Chrysler 300C and a Navigator, all in 1/24 - 1/25. If the Town Car is to the same scale, I wouldn't mind buying one. I wish someone would cast one!
  9. Now that's going to look sweet!
  10. Wow. I would think that at over 175 mph, you don't need fire suppression, you need a body bag! FWIW, here is a link to my LSR Racing Fotki album. http://public.fotki.com/JCole/race-cars--trucks--/
  11. See what a long divorced, retired school teacher can do after making the right investments? He told me his Harley was courtesy of Exxon. He cashed out wisely before the financial world collapsed. Here is some pics of the hobby room... I guess that makes this the "Exxon Harley"
  12. I don't recall how many kits he has, it's in the thousands tho. You should see his hobby room above the garage! He sells these kits in the summertime at an automotive flea market, but sales are slow (plus he charges too high, IMHO) BTW, that's a two car garage... and these are the two cars in occupancy... More soon.
  13. Jay, I'm sure this will look killer! Always great detail.
  14. No, it's not mine, unfortunately. Belongs to someone I know. Those kits are keeping good company BTW the deuce is mine... as soon as I win the lottery.
  15. I guessed "real", it's hard to tell one way or another
  16. Thank you everyone for your advice. As for the Flintstone site, notice that nothing is said about how long to soak. Thus my original Q
  17. Yeah, nothing says "generic" like a Corolla! They may as well have a "Maytag" emblem on them!
  18. You can't go wrong with bacon! Everything tastes better with bacon!
  19. Why not just mold it to the top of the chassis plate, where it won't be seen at all? No tampo print machines to set up. There is a cost involved to tampo print. If it was molded to the top of the chassis then it is a one time cost; with tampo print, it has to be set up every time it is run.
  20. So they are now tampo printing copyright info on the bottom side of the bodies? There is something amusing about that! Especially when you think about all the "cost cutting" claims we have heard over the years. Also wondering if the "cartoon bird" is NA due to separate licensing fees?
  21. I asked this Q over on the old Hobby Heaven board some time ago, and Evan Hermel answered: "For a pure flat, I use gloss: flat in 3:1-5:1 ratio. For a semi gloss, try a 10:1 ratio."
  22. Jerry, your photos are amazing! They easily fool the eye.
  23. C'mon, guys! Everyone knows meat & models don't go together!
  24. That kit is in my "dead build" pile, lost steam on it. Here is a link with some pics. http://public.fotki.com/JCole/my_model_cars/mopar/
  25. So the correct answer is somewhere between a scrubdown right now, and a four day soak? LoL! Now I am more confused than before I asked!
