  1. DANG! Sweet build!
  2. As long as you accept that there is no 1:1 vehicle, you can do whatever. As the script in the pic below says, "Rommel's Rod is Toms (Daniel) version..."
  3. And if you need further convincing, learn from my mistake! This is what an acid core solder exhaust looks like! D'oh!
  4. Jason, I cannot participate, but I think Snowball is a great idea. I might suggest you add more detail as to what is expected of each participant. For instance, you asked for a one month time limit. I would add to that, and suggest each participant agrees to forward to the next person at the end of their term with the kit, regardless of completion. This would serve to 'add pressure' to each one to "git 'er dun" so to speak. What about offering an extension to a participant? If they really need it, maybe an extension would be good if someone needs more time. Also, ask that each participant post photos to show progress, and help motivate all involved. Not a rule, of course. There is already a web site to track progress... you are all reading it now. As the topic gets pushed down the board, just bump it. And a question... do you recommend that each participant wait for the package to arrive, vs. just grabbing the same kit on their shelf, thus getting a head start? So, one month, 12 people, = one year. Is that agreed by all? I hope this project is a success!
  5. Jody Here is a few picks done (I presume) from the Flintstone resin body, shown for inspiration! TWO CHEVY CAMARO LONGROOF CONCEPTS photographed @ the Milwaukee NNL by Marty Neyrinck
  6. Lets be practical here. Why not just purchase one from an on-line hobby store? You can use a credit card, or get a money order. Maybe even use PayPal.
  7. Peter, what else can be said? You have taken it to the next level- no, scratch that comment. You slammed this one out of the stratosphere!
  8. James- I don't think I have anything to offer, but you're welcome to look. http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_mercedes-benz/page2.html
  9. One problem with kits that are released in December... depending on where your LHS is, ya need one of these to reach the shop! Oh how I hate the traffic snarls!
  10. CAL has me pegged, I think! I'm always fretting that I need more reference material! That is how my obsession for collecting car photos started. Eventually collecting photos became a bigger hobby of mine then building models! But WTH, I enjoy both. I also have projects that have died waiting for the hunt for more reference material to continue. Not too many people bother to photograph entire car chassis. Going 50+ pages deep in a Google Image search is not unheard of for me. And yet, there is something enjoyable about it. Meantime, everyone is welcome to have a look at my Fotki pages. Most photos are arranged alphabetically by title. Most car brands have their own album. Enjoy! http://public.fotki.com/JCole/
  11. If you want to change your screen name, and the program allows it, then, sure! Why not. Use whatever you like. You are not required to use any specific words or names in you screen name. Only requirement is to use your name in the sig line- which you are. It's like trying to choose what color to spray your next model... it's 100% up to you. However, if you still need suggestions, may I suggest "Last chance to send Jon Cole $5." I like it.
  12. Man, does that sound familiar! The wife has gone through three imaginary passenger side brake pedals already! Not to mention the "death grip" marks she has left on the dashboard. In the last snow we got, I told her I wanted to go to an empty parking lot to "see what the car will do". See said to drop her off first. I briefly thought of dropping her off in the middle of the lot, and do donuts around here. I bet sleeping in the dog house gets very cold this time of year! Just blip the throttle as I'm leaving the driveway, and she acts as though an impending fiery deadly, gas tank exploding, shards of steel, blood spattering crash will surely be the death of us all!
  13. Looks good as usual, John!
  14. Steve Gasparrelli crashes at Auto Club Finals Nov. 2009 This FC hooks off the line HARD... the photographer barely flinches! Drag race photographer Andy Willsheer must have nads of steel Check out the YouTube video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdT2UUg1zYU...player_embedded Here it is as it went...
  15. The Monte Carlo kit, I recall hearing that the big gripe by those who built it was it sits too high. Be sure to check that out as you build it.
  16. "I'm a moderator on a model car web site." "You're dismissed, Mr. Pristovnik"
  17. I understand the layout. It appears just as it may appear in a photograph, where the building may appear "cut off". This may be because the building would not necessarily be the center of attention in the scene. In other words, it looks good!
  18. Ditto NA$CAR. The sanctioning bodies just keep allowing more and more until the end result has every last ounce of soul squeezed out of it. So much for progress.
  19. I voted "MODEL", but it could just as easily be real... six of one, 1/2 dozen of the other
  20. Jason, Sorry for what? The use of the word "butt"? Aww, that's 'nuttin! No concern needed!
  21. A nice start on a great car.
  22. Thank you for the answers! This project has a chance after all! I suspect I won't have to be to concerned about differences in interior! P.S: Bill, my sympathy on the loss of KitKat. I hope you have lots of good memories.
  23. Help me out here, if you can. I would like to build a '57 Belvedere. I know the Modelhaus makes a grille & headlight for it. What else is different from the '58 Fury by AMT? No need for 100% accuracy, as I want to build the Tulsa "Miss Belverere" from 2007. I do know that lower grille is visible, what else would I need to get a reasonable five-seven Plymouth? Thanks!
  24. It would be an honor to drive your getaway car!
