  1. From the Dept of the Weird (actually, from jalopnik): Jo Jo Dancer, Your $2,500 Crystal-Covered Lambo Model Is Calling Hypothetical question: If you had 7,688 tiny Swarovski crystals, what would you do with them? You'd glue them to a cheap Murcielago model, you say? Oh! It's like we were separated at birth! The glitzy trinket you see before you is made by Californian model company Maisto. It's offically dubbed the "Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Made With Crystallized Swarovski Elements," and it wants to be your friend. There's only one catch: The model is only available in Europe. It's limited to 550 examples, it comes with its own box and commemorative mount, and it costs the equivalent of $2500. Somewhere, someone wants this, and they want it badly. Just for the record, we have no idea who they are.

    Red Baron

Nice show rod build up. It's so iconic, I almost feel obligated to buy the kit. If that is an aircraft engine, I just may buy one!
  3. Thanks for asking! I used a photo-etched grille, aluminum front splitter, and the seats is the custom rear bench from the '57 Ford.

    Street Rod

This is from several years back, from the Revell kit. Wheels are from a Prowler.
  5. In Terry Jesse's thread on his Jeeps in the "Under Glass" section, some interest was shown in the riding tractor. I found something similar. A scale lawn mower. I found it at the local Hallmark store, in the tree ornament section. I haven't purchased one yet, so I cannot confirm its scale, but it looks right. They sell for $15. US. If anyone buys one, be sure to tell us about how it sizes up. Pickup truck fodder?
  6. "It's not for me! It's... um, ya'kno, It's... ...for a friend!
  7. My calendar starts with "Miss January"!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Maybe not, but you sure did give us the impression you were thinking of it! A little more info on your part would have helped
  9. Hmmm... Can I phone a friend? Use one of my lifelines? First instinct says MODEL.
  10. Kit of The Decade? Heck, that's EASY! It's.... it's.... ...um, well.... ...uh, let me get back to ya on that.
  11. The Classic Plastic club (from New England, not Calif.) is doing a "P.O.P." catagory for next year; Plymouth, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac, the Orphan Cars. I'll bet there will be several of the '72 Cutlass Does this sound like something any of you would try for?
  12. Marcos, your Vega looks great! Two thumbs up! But... where's the rust?
  13. Thanks Pat for giving us the opportunity to "be there!" If you get a chance, can you label the vendors? It's a great way for us to see what they have.
  14. Jay, You have shared with us some awesome builds, why leave? IIRC, you built a '58 Plymouth "Christine" Pro Mod, and I also remember your '49 Merc Pro Mod. Both are freakin' awesome! No message board can be all things to everyone. We have faults here... just like real life. Sit back, have a cigar and a brew... and enjoy!
  15. Thanks for the kind words, and advice Bill.
  16. Some history on this 'toy' please! Who made it, and who sold it, and is it still available? I had the JF body, but I sold it. To do a decent job, would require fabbing all four light housings, plus vac-u-forming the lens. Although... the one in black up a ways sure looks sweet.
  17. Some kits now have seats made of vinyl. I'm not sure of what glue to use. I hope one of the adhesives I already have will work; plastic tube cement, super glue, clear epoxy, JB Weld epoxy, rubber cement, or contact cement?
  18. Build it! All that matters is what YOU think of it. BTW, what color(s) are you going to paint it? Maybe the "Frankenstein" nature of the design could be diminished, if it was one color, vs. a two-tone?
  19. Thought I would share these. Hope someone builds it.
  20. Jeepster, are those wheels available for sale? The only way I will buy the resin Wag is if I can get the wheels to build a replica of my old Jeep. Perhaps RMR could also get a set to cast? Thanks for sharing!
  21. Ya know, those tailight housings have a bit of 1958 Plymouth to them IMHO.
  22. Perhaps just buy the kit. I bet someone here would buy the "remains" (kit minus decals) from you. I'd say $10 as a start. Not me... I have more kits then I will ever need.
  23. I just found something on a 1962 Falcon 4-cam fastback http://bringatrailer.com/2009/07/30/ready-...2-4-cam-falcon/
  24. I agree... another request for a write-up about dry transfers! Man that car looks great!
