  1. All I know is he has a fashon model sister, "Twig Stig"
  2. I have always heard the negative comments on the "blue tube", yet I don't recall anyone actually putting it to the test. Your comments on it are the first I have heard that are specific to actual trials, and it doesn't sound as bad as I have been lead to believe. It's the 'orange tube' that I dislike. Too darn stringy! I have a square glass jar of Testors Liquid Cement. I have squeezed 'orange tube' glue into it to slightly thicken the mix. Now it's still quite liquid, yet not as watery.
  3. As far as a contest featuring the best in the hobby, that is what I think of when I think of the GSL contest. I believe it is held every other year, and is quite prestigous, without being exclusive. Anyone can enter, but we can expect to see high caliber builds. That's my take on it. Some day I hope to go. I have never attended, so if my info is not 100% spot-on, please correct me.
  4. 59- If you want to avoid the large range of glues and adhesives developed by chemists , you shouldn't have any problems. Just buy yourself, and anyone else in your home one of these:
  5. Looks good! But, don't forget... gravity! Be sure to give those wires a little "weight"
  6. Hey! I like that! Purple suede, and chrome delete.
  7. Maybe go for the "economical" version... cover your model with glue, roll it in shattered safety glass!
  8. If I keep screwing up links like I did above (at least twice!), I'm going to have to dye my hair blond! All five of them! Thank you Bill for the correction.
  9. Thanks for the heads-up, Lee! Okay, lets try this again. Here is the link to the first page of my "1:1 Plymouth" Everything is listed alphabetically by title; you can just jump forward to pages 4 and 5. http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_mopar-1/11_plymouth/
  10. One thing wrong with it.... ...it's not mine! Looks ready to shread asphalt!
  11. Yeah! Those wheels / tires work! Hope this project sails!
  12. Man, that looks good. If you're interested, there is another source for headlight bezels, although it's not cheap. Yat Ming makes a 1939 Lincoln, FDR's "Sunshine Special". I just recieved in the mail a catalog, they have it for $39.99 +S&H. Try fairfieldcollectibles.com
  13. Nick; I have about 1 1/2 pages of '58 Plymouth photos. Maybe of some use? http://public.fotki.com/JCole/11_mopar-1/11_plymouth/ Link corrected on 11/29/2009
  14. Welcome to our place, Mark. You should check out the "New Kit Reviews" link and check out all the info and photos on the kit. Here is a link: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=24697
  15. Mike, nice Bee!
  16. What Jairus says! Although I would mention ('tho it may seem obvious) that once you have sprayed the clear, the decal now must be carefully cut out along the edges of the image. No so on the original decal.
  17. From the Dept of the Weird (actually, from jalopnik): Jo Jo Dancer, Your $2,500 Crystal-Covered Lambo Model Is Calling Hypothetical question: If you had 7,688 tiny Swarovski crystals, what would you do with them? You'd glue them to a cheap Murcielago model, you say? Oh! It's like we were separated at birth! The glitzy trinket you see before you is made by Californian model company Maisto. It's offically dubbed the "Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Made With Crystallized Swarovski Elements," and it wants to be your friend. There's only one catch: The model is only available in Europe. It's limited to 550 examples, it comes with its own box and commemorative mount, and it costs the equivalent of $2500. Somewhere, someone wants this, and they want it badly. Just for the record, we have no idea who they are.

    Red Baron

Nice show rod build up. It's so iconic, I almost feel obligated to buy the kit. If that is an aircraft engine, I just may buy one!
  19. Thanks for asking! I used a photo-etched grille, aluminum front splitter, and the seats is the custom rear bench from the '57 Ford.

    Street Rod

This is from several years back, from the Revell kit. Wheels are from a Prowler.
  21. In Terry Jesse's thread on his Jeeps in the "Under Glass" section, some interest was shown in the riding tractor. I found something similar. A scale lawn mower. I found it at the local Hallmark store, in the tree ornament section. I haven't purchased one yet, so I cannot confirm its scale, but it looks right. They sell for $15. US. If anyone buys one, be sure to tell us about how it sizes up. Pickup truck fodder?
  22. "It's not for me! It's... um, ya'kno, It's... ...for a friend!
  23. My calendar starts with "Miss January"!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Maybe not, but you sure did give us the impression you were thinking of it! A little more info on your part would have helped
  25. Hmmm... Can I phone a friend? Use one of my lifelines? First instinct says MODEL.
