  1. It's something about that photo, I voted "real". I have a good track record going here, let's see if I can keep it going.
  2. WoW! That is loaded with imagination! I'm thinkin' "magazine feature"!
  3. Sa-WEET! Where do I sign up for a full subscription?
  4. I am currently in a slump also. Finally I realized why I abandoned my last build. I just didn't want to deal with another full-body car. Oh, I love modern cars for sure, but all that chrome to BMF, elaborate dashboard detail, etc. Meh. Then I started to think about what I think about when I am not at my bench. It's a build that has been lurking in the back of my noggin' for a while now. The more I thought about it, I realized that was the one I HAD to build. Now I am in the planning stages. Once I think about what engine, wheels, tires, paint, etc, then I plan on posting some mock-up photos. I hope I can work this way out of my block.
  5. Sometimes I use whitewall stickers from Joe Wheat. These are die cut from 3M labels. Thing is, I'm not sure if Joe still offers these. If you had a cutting mat, and a circle cutter, you could make your own. Joe also has narrow whitewalls in two sizes (IIRC) and redwalls as well.
  6. Marcos, I just saved those photos to my aftermarket reference site. They look too good not to! Hope ya don't mind man!
  7. I think a good way to learn mixing paint without wasting kit bodies is to spray engine blocks. Also want to sand out those seams down the middle (especially the oil pan) I have a bunch of those cups, free. They used to package Crystal Light drink mix in those (no longer tho), but some 'store brands' still do. And, the drink is sugar free!
  8. OMG. That's all I can say!
  9. SWEET! Is that the one with the "glass" molded to the body? Looks good.
  10. Great 'bird, Mike!
  11. Way nice!!!
  12. Welcome to our zoo! Don't forget to read the board rules... be sure to add your name to the sig line so we know who to say "welcome" to
  13. Yep. AMT officially Jumps The Shark.
  14. A "donk" deuce? AMT already covered it.
  15. Al, Thanks for asking. The 'Vair in my avatar is just a photo I found that I like. I have owned a few 'Vairs over the years, but they are long gone. I used to be a member of CORSA, I still have the newsletters around here somewhere. I would consider buying another Corvair if it had the Crown V8 conversion
  16. Guys, it's just one category! Not only that, but it's not always widely known. I was thinking of withholding the original post, to see if anyone would even mention it here. But why should anyone over at the Spotlight board think they own the show? As an "Internet" promotion, I see plenty of built deuces here... I doubt it will end as a fail. Nobody is being forced to enter that category. Every year it is different than the previous year. Just my 2 cents...
  17. Someone just e-mailed me, said that Tom Geiger announced the NNL East "Internet Theme" award this year will be the Revell '32 Ford 5-window, and the '32 Ford sedan. I also heard from another source that the new 5-window is "out of the pipeline" as it is a Special Issue. That would mean that stores won't be able to get more.

Nice job Joe. If that's your first in a decade, you're going to build some nice stuff!
  19. I think a nearby Pizzaria offers bugs as a topping. Not intentionally, of course.
  20. Sorry about the pic! Lesson learned.
  21. So, who who is offering the best automotive type calendar this year? That means in all categories... Hot rod, rat rod, customs, muscle cars, vintage trucks, etc.
  22. I plan on using med tape next time I do a headliner. I did use masking tape before, That is before I painted it. I think I could do better, but I wasn't convinced I (or anyone else) was going to check out my headliner. Maybe I should have trimmed it better?
  23. While the Lindberg '40 Ford is indeed a pig in comparison to other versions out there, it IS quite buildable with a little effort. Check out my Fotki page and the captions for most photos (#30 to #77) @: My link
  24. Boy, does that look... French
  25. Mike- that has to be the best collection I have ever seen of photos of Modelhaus products! That is worth bookmarking.
