"Isn't the fact that this place is more "member friendly" than some other forums the very reason a lot of you are here in the first place?" Indeed it is! It is the best!

Thanks Harry, for re-sizing my sig photo down, although I never really thought it was a problem to begin with. The bigger picture here is (Ohh! A pun!) are we going to start nit-picking every da#n thing in these posts of ours? Jeez, in the short time I have been here, I have seen so much... trivial complaints brought up. Why? Are we running out of worthwhile topics to discuss? What will the next "gripe" be? Font size? Maybe a "cartoon" in the avatar? (Bust me now! Ship me off to the Big House! Guilty as charged! ) It's a little weird here sometimes, but I still say this is the best board on model cars!

I try to make sure my sig pic isn't too big, and I admit I don't know how to size down a photo. I use Fotki. Can anyone help me? I like adding those photos, and change them frequently. This helps in sharing the way I am. This internet is already to sheltering and impersonal, a photo can help break the ice, so to speak. Don't worry about animated gifs... don't know how to find much less use those!

I agree that this board is awesome! It keeps me in the hobby, when I am not able to continue at the workbench. I wish some other builders from Classic Plastic and Masscar were here, as I really do feel disconnected from others I have never met in person, people from the world over. But I do get to share some, and learn a lot! I have even forwarded tips from here to others! And a big tip of the hat to another "mystery man", Harry! His efforts here to keep it all running smooth deserve a thumbs up from all. He wears a lot of hats while moderating our little zoo! Thanks all!

Testors Non-Toxic Cement For Models
Jon Cole replied to beefheart22's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Maybe it was this "Glucifer" who has broken into my local hobby shop twice in the past year! Guess what was stolen each time? Orange tube glue... nothing else. I believe an arrest was made each time. -
Just who is "The Stig"?
Jon Cole replied to FujimiLover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
All I know is he has a fashon model sister, "Twig Stig" -
Testors Non-Toxic Cement For Models
Jon Cole replied to beefheart22's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have always heard the negative comments on the "blue tube", yet I don't recall anyone actually putting it to the test. Your comments on it are the first I have heard that are specific to actual trials, and it doesn't sound as bad as I have been lead to believe. It's the 'orange tube' that I dislike. Too darn stringy! I have a square glass jar of Testors Liquid Cement. I have squeezed 'orange tube' glue into it to slightly thicken the mix. Now it's still quite liquid, yet not as watery. -
The masters challenge.

As far as a contest featuring the best in the hobby, that is what I think of when I think of the GSL contest. I believe it is held every other year, and is quite prestigous, without being exclusive. Anyone can enter, but we can expect to see high caliber builds. That's my take on it. Some day I hope to go. I have never attended, so if my info is not 100% spot-on, please correct me. -
59- If you want to avoid the large range of glues and adhesives developed by chemists , you shouldn't have any problems. Just buy yourself, and anyone else in your home one of these:

Looks good! But, don't forget... gravity! Be sure to give those wires a little "weight" -

If I keep screwing up links like I did above (at least twice!), I'm going to have to dye my hair blond! All five of them! Thank you Bill for the correction. -

Jon Cole replied to Jeff Sauber's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Man, that looks good. If you're interested, there is another source for headlight bezels, although it's not cheap. Yat Ming makes a 1939 Lincoln, FDR's "Sunshine Special". I just recieved in the mail a catalog, they have it for $39.99 +S&H. Try fairfieldcollectibles.com -

Newbie with decal question
Jon Cole replied to gypsy jim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What Jairus says! Although I would mention ('tho it may seem obvious) that once you have sprayed the clear, the decal now must be carefully cut out along the edges of the image. No so on the original decal.
