  1. The outdoor shots! Nice! That captures the look.
  2. Good point. Another plus for the foil cover.
  3. AWESOME!
  4. No. The foil is smooth, and soft. Never had a problem. Use a new piece of foil... nothing there to harm anything. I will also use foil to cover (part of) an engine assembly so the paint won't rub through.
  5. This.... is one of THE most stunning contemporary customs that I have ever seen! Everything about it is so right. The satin gray finish, accented by the red, the speedster windscreen, the stance, everything!
  6. A possible alternative, is to wrap a piece of aluminum foil around the model. Just leave the area you are working on exposed. You can move the foil around depending what part of the model you're working on.
  7. Mike, are you really throwing away bodies that you had problems with? Why not just strip the paint off, and start over? You are not alone, plenty of us have to repaint. Also wondering if you use a dehydrator between paints? At least you would know the substrate was 100% cured before topcoating.
  8. If ya get hit while in that, they may never locate you. Depends on what county/state you land in.
  9. Jeez, Doc! When I read this post, I thought Bill may have passed away! "Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated"
  10. This Ford has been on top of the boxcar for as long as I can remember...
  11. It's a 1941 Wafflesniffer... Oh! Sorry! No hints. Nevermind.
  12. Yes it is Casey. Far more detailed than the AMT offering. One nice feature is the hood is attached at the rear corners. there are horizontal slots on top of the firewall, so I made this one piece non-functional hood spring. I just stuck that hook seen on the lower left into the slot, and it holds that metal hood up just fine. The music wire cross bar places the opposite side in place; no hook.
  13. Great build on the all business slick top!
  14. NICE! And while I love a red Ferrari, the change of pace is a plus!
  15. Not new, I finished it a few years back. And... it's the Revell kit with pre-paint body. That freed me up to add detail, and actually finish it.
  16. NEW QUESTION: How do I do a directory album, with subfolders in Photobucket? I did subfolders in Fotki, was very helpful so all makes had their on folder. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Underslung! Don't see that every day!
  18. Well, I see in the "Reviews" section that the Scooby BRZ kit is out. How... did they churn out a kit of that so quick? Everything else (with slight exaggeration) takes years to reach the shelves! The domestic brands... years. But Tamiya, they seem to produce a kit within a few months. I seem to recall the same quick production with Tamiya and the (then) New Beetle.

    Salt Rod

    Sweet!
  20. I don't know. When we see something that appears odd... and painting the chrome trim is odd, I think it is only fair to ask why. I would say the response to the question was rude, not the question itself. Also, I have a lot of posts to catch up on. I don't have time to click on every "thumbnail" image on this site. If you go with Photobucket, the pics are sized for quick viewing. And it's free.
  21. I haff zee ansar, I haff zee proof! Iz REAL!
