1950 Ford Truck (Pikes Peak)
Zippi replied to Zippi's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I'm calling this one done fellows. Under Glass: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/191476-1950-ford-pikes-peak-truck/ YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=em6mdRqZf70&t=547s -
Just finished this one up earlier today. This is the Monogram 1950 Ford Pickup kit that has been build as a Pikes Peak runner. Power comes from an Iceman Ford 7.3 Diesel Power Stroke engine on Nitro's. The body kit and wheels & tires come from Texas 3D Customs. Nitro's bottles are also from the Iceman. Body color is Tamiya Light Grey Surface Primer cleared with Tamiya X-22 Clear. All the bright work was blacked out using Tamiya TS-29 Semi Gloss Black then cleared. Thanks Roger. Yeah, I'm not all that up on what a Diesel engine should look like all dressed out. -

I appreciate it Carl but I Just realized something. I some how forgot to glue the pulley system on the front of the engine. I already had the engine glued in and the chassis glued to the body. I'm in trouble now. I guess I'm loosing my mind. That is differently a first. -

I got the Iceman Ford 7.3 Diesel Power Stroke engine finished up. I did a trial fit in the engine bay and I'm going to have to do some cutting on the firewall and the floor pan. I knew I left the firewall out for some reason. -

I got my Nitro's bottles in from the Iceman so I started a little mock-up. I found these two white pieces in the parts box and I believe they are going work to hold the bottles in place. I'm using some brass pins which I've cut the heads off to attach the Nitro's bottle brackets to the bed of the truck. -
You gotta nice run at the 32 Ford Roadster. That's a lot of pony's in the business end. I'm liking it.

That's a good looking color on the body Ken. What did you paint the exhaust pipes with?
