1937 Ford Pickup Monster Truck
Zippi replied to Zippi's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Thank's Kyle. The 1/32 wheels & tires do look better but I have to think about all the suspension mods that would have to happen. Still checking things out. -

I'm really liking this one Michael. I like the wheely bars being up under the car. Keeps things closer to the pavement. -
NIce looking old school drag car.

Thanks Roger. Well, I've been looking at the 66 Chevy Monster truck I build. Maybe a matching color so they can be buds ? -
Welcome to the site Ace. Your right up my alley with the builds you like.

I love it when the fellows in the forum help someone in need.

You are correct sir. Just picked up the 1/32 scale kit at the Hobby Shop. This size looks much better.

I think I'll be going with these wheels & tires. They are out of the 1/32 AMT Silverado Monster truck kit. Since the 37 Ford truck body is much smaller that a newer truck body I think the size of the wheels & tires fit much better. -
Still waiting on some decent weather to get the body in the spay booth. If it's not cold it's raining. I hate this weather.

Nice looking 55 Chevy project Rooster.

I'm down with this build. Just started this one with the Revell 1937 Ford truck body on the modified AMT USA1 Silverado Monster truck chassis. I'm running a 302 with dual quads. May be changing the wheels & tires to 1/32 scale.

STITCHES

I'm like Roger....those wheels & tires make the truck. -
I have a project I'm working on and the 1/25 wheels & tires (2.6" diameter) look just a little to big. I'm thinking the 1/32 may be right but dont' really know the diameter. Anyone have a set (4) they would be willing to part with? Thanks guys.

I hear ya. I weighed the options and this was a much better fit. Took out the ole dremel tool and the hobby saw and got after it. The chassis has been cleaned of all unwanted debri and shortened. -
Lately the weather has been so cold or rainy that I haven't been able to do much painting at all. With that being said I've decided to start another project. I wasn't to sure about this build but after doing a mock-up this morning I think I'm liking what I see. I tried the Revell 1937 pickup body on the AMT 2021 Bronco but it just didn't look right to me so, I tried the AMT Chevy Silverado and it is the victim for this project. The chassis will have to be shortened about 1" plus a lot of other mods just to make this chassis fit the 37 body. I found a Ford engine with duel quads sitting on the rack so I pulled it down to be used in the business end of this project.
