1937 Ford Pickup Monster Truck
Zippi replied to Zippi's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I hear ya. I weighed the options and this was a much better fit. Took out the ole dremel tool and the hobby saw and got after it. The chassis has been cleaned of all unwanted debri and shortened. -
Lately the weather has been so cold or rainy that I haven't been able to do much painting at all. With that being said I've decided to start another project. I wasn't to sure about this build but after doing a mock-up this morning I think I'm liking what I see. I tried the Revell 1937 pickup body on the AMT 2021 Bronco but it just didn't look right to me so, I tried the AMT Chevy Silverado and it is the victim for this project. The chassis will have to be shortened about 1" plus a lot of other mods just to make this chassis fit the 37 body. I found a Ford engine with duel quads sitting on the rack so I pulled it down to be used in the business end of this project.

Thanks. Yeah, I have a plan. I just need some nice weather so I can get some painting done.

Pretty kewl looking Dragster with that 426 Hemi up front. I'll bet that would be a wild ride looking through that glass.

Nice looking 56. Great color combo and the wheels & tires are just the ticket.

I finally made it out to the garage for some bench time but I won't be out here long. I got the garage up to 51° but it's just to cold to enjoy it. But, I did get a little done. Since this is going to be a goofy build I drilled holes for the spark plug wire and the exhaust pipes in the hood. I cut some 3/16" X .014" brass tub about 3/16" long and glued them into some small plastic squares I cut. These will be glued to the underside of the hood once all the painting is done.

David, Your right man....it's a mess for sure. There is no decent weather coming to get any painting done. 3° this morning and when it does warm up it nothing but rain. Come on Spring ?

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
Zippi replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well fellows, anyone that has a Hot Rod, Restmod, Muscle car, etc. knows that we are never done. There is always some sort of project going on. -
