That looks pretty good Roger. I'll be hitting mine with Tamiya X-22 Clear once it cures for a few day and I wet sand it.

That Caddy engine is looking mighty fine.

Thanks Buddy. I like the color, I was just expecting it to be darker.
-
Thanks Ray. The color is a little off from the cap and it has a metallic look to it. Not what I was going far.

The weather was nice today do I got after it and got some paint on the 49 Merc. The paint is Tamiya X-10 Gun Metal Acrylic. I thinned it 2-1 with Mr Color Leveling Thinner. I look a little like a metallic but it should change a little during the curing process.

Looks like it's ready for the Nostalgia Drag races at the local track. Nicely done and a Great looking 40 Ford. Love the ole fat fenders.

You don't see these every day. That is one stretched out custom Lincoln. It has a certain look to it that I like. Very nice build.

Looking good James. I just shot some of the Tamiya X-22 Clear on my Ramptruck. I really like spraying the clear as it just goes on so nice.

1967 Ford F-350 Ramptruck
Zippi replied to Zippi's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The temperature got to around 55° and the humidity was at 19% so I got out the airbrush out and shot the Ramptruck with Tamiya X-22 Clear. I'll let this cure out for about 3 days then wet sand and polish it. -
Pretty kewl bike shop. Very well done. The only thing I don't see is a few beer bottle setting around.
-
That's a little different from your normal. Very well done.

Scribing Panel Lines & Opening Doors
Zippi replied to ViperDave's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I've tried scribing the panel line on a few models with not much success. I think the first time I tried it I didn't scribe deep enough and ran the #11 blade (back side of an old blade) out of the grove in a couple places. The second time around I bought some scribes at HL and they seem to work fine but the end result showed nothing. My final attempt I ended up making the door gaps in certain area's wider and I didn't like how it looked. I was scribing the panel line before I primed the body. I guess I just don't have the patience for it. I was at HL yesterday looking over the models at 40% off and I wondered over to the pen section in the store and found this pen with a 0.1mm tip. It was only $3.99 so I thought I would try it. I like how it turned out on an old body but not sure if I will use this or keep practicing with the scribe method. -
Thanks for the info but I think I'm just going to display this one with the hood and deck lid open but thanks for the idea.

Well Mario, even with the little hair pulling it came out pretty nice. Great job.

Thanks Carl. This winter I'll be airbrushing in my garage. I have a 5000 watt heater that I've had for a few years and normally get it up to 55° - 60° in the winter. I'm curious as to how it's going to work out as far as painting.
