  1. Well....I think I have picked my next project for the start of 2022. It's the AMT 1953 Victoria and will be built stock. I painted this some months back in preparation for the cold winter months. I found that I forgot to sand out a couple mold lines by the headlights after it was painted so I sat it aside. I've cleaned up the mold lines and I'll brush on a little of the craft paint and a little Pledge Revive-it and see if I can polish it. If that turns out ok I'll move forward on this build. I'm also debating on leaving the top of the car green or strip it and paint it white. If I go with stripping it I'll have to wait until warmer weather comes back. The body was air brushed with Anita's Dew Green mixed 50/50 with Windex and cleared with Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Acrylic Lacquer.
  2. I appreciate it Carl. Thank's.
  3. You bet man. Hope it helps whoever sees this post.
  4. Have you got a pic of what your trying to figure out?
  5. Looking pretty sweet there James. I was looking at the wheelie bars for my 56 but forgot all about them. I was going to put a 10 gal fuel tank in the bed and forgot about that as well. Heck....I think I forgot a lot of stuff ? Nice progress on you pickup dude.
  6. Nice looking collection of Mustangs.
  7. Yeah....I thought it was a good idea and worked for me.
  8. You bet man.
  9. Thank's Luke. I appreciate your kind words man.
  10. Yup. There's always more than one way to skin a cat so to speak.
  11. Ok guys & gals.....I'm calling this one done. Link to the finished model. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/167482-1960-ford-ranchero/
  12. Got this one done this morning. Pretty much stock except the wheels & tires came out of the AMT 1961 Chevy Impala SS and the engine was wired and modified. All the trim was covered with bmf and the script was hit with my Molotow chrome pen. It was painted with Tamiya TS-41 Coral Blue and cleared with Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Lacquer and polished with Novus & Meguiar's products. 13. I thought it was Al. Turned out pretty good.
  14. Thank's Greg. Seem to work this time.
  15. Thank's. I'm sure this has been done before but I couldn't find it doing a search.
  16. It was time for the script on the body and I was going to try and idea I've had going around in my head for some time. I did a search and couldn't find where anyone had tried this so I was on my own. I pulled out a new pencil and marked a line on one side. I took my Molotow Chrome pen and put a little by my mark and away I went. I'll be Da*n if it didn't turn out really good. I'm a happy camper.
  17. I was finishing up my 1960 Ford Ranchero this morning and noticed I hadn't done the script on the body yet. In had been thinking for a while to use the eraser on a pencil as a stamp. I couldn't find a post of anyone trying this so I was on my own. I marked a line at the edge of the eraser as I didn't want a whole lot of the chrome from my Molotow pen to flood the area. I put a little on the eraser and away I went. I think it turned out pretty good. I'm satisfied with the outcome.
  18. Thank's Ray. Like you I hate putting foil on. Steering away from it as much as possible anymore.
  19. Thank's James. Yeah the color is growing on me.
  20. I really like that Tamiya Coral Blue. Looks good on your interior. I just painted my 60 Ford Ranchero with the TS-41. The different lighting makes the color change. Yours looks more blue and mine than mine.
  21. Wheels and tires really make or break a ride. Yours is looking pretty sweet and it's down in the weeds.
  22. Nice score there Snake. If it were me I'd go with the "Mid-late '60s Gasser".
