  1. Looking good John. You could add some black plug wires and run them over the valve covers. That would add a little contrast and go along with all the other black on the engine.
  2. Thank's Dave. Going over what paints I have on hand for the interior colors. I have some white and mint green that might work.
  3. Thanks for the tip Mark.
  4. I'm going to start 2022 with my AMT 1953 Ford Victoria which I'm currently working on. The others will follow in no particular order. Still haven't decided what else I may build during 2022.
  5. That is looking super sharp. I just love the two tone paint.
  6. I brought the 53 body inside for the night to let it acclimate to the temperature in the house. I have my physical early in the morning but as soon as I get back I'll be hitting that flat white top with some clear lacquer.
  7. Haha....yes in deed.
  8. Haha....we are all just boys playing with our toys ?
  9. Yup...that's why I don't remember it. I was only 9 in 1963.
  10. Thanks for your I put Jim. I've decided to leave them as is for now. Dave I appreciate your input as well. If it can be done with a steady hand it would not be my hands as coffee gives me the shakes to much. I don't remember anyone in my neck of the woods coloring the letters on tires back in the day but sounds like it was a mess
  11. That might work but I just got through looking at 53's online. I didn't see a one that had the letters in any other color but white. So, with that being said since this is a stock build I'm going to leave them as is but I do appreciate all the input.
  12. I hear ya on the black Buddy. Just not sure yet. If the area was down in the plastic it would work fine but the letters are raised. I'm thinking the wash would just slide off the letters and make a mess.
  13. I'm getting ready to put the decals on the hub caps. I noticed it says Firestone on the whitewalls. Anybody every try to highlight the letters? How would one go about that???
  14. Could be to thin I guess. I thin mine 50/50. I always have a paper towel that I test spray before I start shooting a body. On my Paasche that's about half way open with my 3.0mm tip.
  15. Nice looking drag car. Decals look great. Nice job.
  16. Looking pretty nice there Riley. The ole Flatty is looking nice.
  17. Great looking models. That 29 surf truck looks nice.
  18. For cutters, I just bought the ones you see at HL and they have worked well. I really don't use files but I do use the small paper nail files that the wife's uses. I recently bought some small square sanding blocks the HL sells.
  19. I've used Rust-Olem paint for years on everything from metal lawn furniture, birdhouses, and models. Last year I tried the Rust-Oleum flat gray primer on a mode! and it worked out great. The paint goes on smooth and levels out nicely. I recently sprayed a model truck with Rusty Oleum flat white primer and cleared it with Tamiya pearl clear. The paint job turned out great. I'll be trying the flat red primer and clearing it with Rust-Oleum clear lacquer this Spring.
  20. Good looking old school Hot Rod. Nice color. Great job.
  21. Looks like the teamwork payed off Anton. Nice looking.
  22. That's a different twist on a Bronco. All Ford. I'm diggin it.
  23. Nice. I've air brushed it before with great results.
  24. Give it a go. I was pleased with how my script turned out.
  25. Yeah that looks pretty kewl.
