*1960 Ford Ranchero*
Zippi replied to Zippi's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
It was time for the script on the body and I was going to try and idea I've had going around in my head for some time. I did a search and couldn't find where anyone had tried this so I was on my own. I pulled out a new pencil and marked a line on one side. I took my Molotow Chrome pen and put a little by my mark and away I went. I'll be Da*n if it didn't turn out really good. I'm a happy camper. -
I was finishing up my 1960 Ford Ranchero this morning and noticed I hadn't done the script on the body yet. In had been thinking for a while to use the eraser on a pencil as a stamp. I couldn't find a post of anyone trying this so I was on my own. I marked a line at the edge of the eraser as I didn't want a whole lot of the chrome from my Molotow pen to flood the area. I put a little on the eraser and away I went. I think it turned out pretty good. I'm satisfied with the outcome.

Thank's Ray. Like you I hate putting foil on. Steering away from it as much as possible anymore. -

Thank's James. Yeah the color is growing on me. -
I really like that Tamiya Coral Blue. Looks good on your interior. I just painted my 60 Ford Ranchero with the TS-41. The different lighting makes the color change. Yours looks more blue and mine than mine.

Wheels and tires really make or break a ride. Yours is looking pretty sweet and it's down in the weeds.

Nice score there Snake. If it were me I'd go with the "Mid-late '60s Gasser".

As always Carl. I appreciate your comments. -
Looking pretty good Greg. That roof fits really well. I buy kits for the wheels and engines at HL when they have their 40 percent off. At $14.99 its cheaper and faster than placing an online order.

Welcome to the forum Jimmie. Nice kit to start with.

Nice looking farm truck. Great weathering and good looking barn. You could haul a few hogs to market in that truck ☺ -

Thank's Dennis. Bad Ass was what I was going for. Something that everyone hates to see show up at the local drive-in restaurant on a Friday night. -

I got some bmf to stick this morning. I had to go through a lot of foil to find some that would stick good enough. Even with a fresh blade the cuts were jagged. Most of it just will not make a good clean straight cut. I can't tell you how much I hate putting this stuff on. -
Great looking Stock cars. Nicely done. I like the 409 in that 62.

Nice job on the Impala. I like the red line tires.

Thank you sir. Thank's Luke. I'm a Happy Camper on the way it turned out as well. I appreciated it Steve. I have a 49 Chevy Restomod that I dearly love but....if I was to build or buy something with a little more muscle for the street this is the way I would want it. Thank's Philippe. -
That's going to be a sharp looking Jeep. I did the same thing a while back thinking I wanted something a little different and bought the Revell Baja Bronco.
