*Revell's Hot Wheels Ford Monster Truck*

I kinda like the Hot Wheels version I picked up as it looks to have a tubular frame instead of a stock frame. Correct me if I'm wrong as this is the first Monster truck for me. -
Welcome to the forum Larry.

Welcome aboard Greg and nice models.

Thank's Greg. I wasn't sure after I painted it but it's growing on me. Once I get the bumpers, wheels & tires, etc. on it should look pretty good. -

Temp got up to 54° today so I had the green light to do some painting. I had it up to 70° in the garage. I got my 60 Ranchero painted and I got the Pearl Clear on the 56. The pearl clear did not say gloss so I was assuming it would have more of a matt finish. It came out a little to shiny for what I was going for. I'll skip the wet sanding and just polish it but it may still come out to shiny. -

This will be a nice one. I like the wheels and tires and the stance looks pretty sweet. I'll be watching this one.

Man that looks sweet. Nice work on getting the foil on. Looks like a 1:1.

Good looking Chevy Wagon Jim. Like others have said, good color and the Steelies look nice. The interior looks nice. What paint did you use?

I haven't opened this kit up yet but is there any way to cut the frame at the red lines, cut down the middle of the crossmembers at the green line and take out what is needed for the tires, then glue it all back together? Just a thought since this is all new to me as well. I have to narrow the axle housing on my 56 project as well. Here is a link where someone built a dual cab but it shows some mods that were made to the rear section of the frame. Mabe this will help. I'm sure someone has done this and can chime in with some pics that will help. -

I got some flat white primer on the body and the bumpers in Matt black. My plan was to leave the body flat white and spray pearl clear over it like I'm doing on my 56 pickup build I'm doing. I do have this Tamiya TS-41 Coral Blue I may shoot over the white. I'll make up my mind tomorrow. -

I saw the video Rob. That's where I got the idea for a winter project since I can leave it blue. -

Looking good James. I was looking at the 66 Nova Pro Street chassis I have and I really like those tubs. If I had to do mine over againg I would be looking at those. I've got this kit in my stash so I'll be folowing along. -
Stopped by the hobby shop yesterday and was talking to my friend (the owner) and he said he had a shippment coming in later that day and he had a couple of the new Revell Hot Wheels Monster trucks in the shipment. He ask if I wanted one. I said, what the heck, hold one for me. Monster trucks are not really my thing but it's a change from the normal. Anybody else picked one of these kits up? Po's & Con's please.
